Portland should be proud. Your team has really improved and they played hard each and every play. MJ has plenty of work to do on defense.

Good luck the rest of the season Panthers !

Be careful when you speak about MJ's defense. At the end of last year I had a few so called MJ fans that you heard absolutely nothing from all year (good or bad) until I mentioned something negative about the defense and coaching on that side of the ball. Before you know it they will say you're not a true fan either. Anyway, it's fixing to get a lot tougher here on out and looking forward to seeing the BEARS improving each week. This is a pretty inexperienced team so i'm glad to see them roll over opponents they should've rolled over. Keep up the great work BEARS!

Pride; I appreciate the advice. I'm not being negative about the defense; just know there is room for improvement and we need to get better to accomplish the goals they have set . My son ( who is a sophmore ) plays on the the D. I agree the season is getting ready to be much tougher now. With LaVergne getting the big upset over Oakland; their confidence will be sky high. Go BEARS !

I didn't say that any "statement" was ridiculous. Changing the night you play on because a mediocre college game between two unranked teams is on tv is ridiculous. If there are a lot of MJ fans who'd rather watch UT on tv than go see the Bears, then that's pretty sad. Thanks for spelling that out. Apparently tivo hasn't made it to MJ and Portland yet.

Mt Juliet travels very well and is always there to support the team no matter what is going on. I have been to a number of games were MJ had more fans in the visitor stands than the home team had in theirs.

Tandem, Apparently you never watch the Bears when they play away games. MJ fans have always traveled well (probably 2nd only to Gallatin in the district)reguardless of who they play. You are an idiot if you think that their are not people out their from middle TN that would rather grill out and get drunk together to watch UT than go to a HS football game. And that is exactly why several games were changed to Thursday night. You getting on here before you know any facts and try to put down MJ fans is pretty sad.

Wow MJP, name calling already and MJ/Beech isn't until next week.

I'm not questioning the number of fans that show up for MJ games. I've seen how MJ supports their teams. That's why I think it's ridiculous to allow people who would "rather grill out and get drunk together to watch UT" to dictate when games are played. FWIW, the Beech-Station Camp game was packed. I'm not questioning MJ's fans, I'm questioning the coaches and administrations from both schools that made the decision.

I don't like Thursday games and didn't agree with the move either. I was just trying to share some facts on the reasoning it was switched to Thursday. Looking forward to the MJ/Beech showdown. It should be a good one. Hoping both teams come into this matchup undefeated.

BKisler you handled yourself well when speaking of the improvement on defense. You just simply made a statement without attacking anyone :)

    • When she starts farting around with the football team the powers in Maryville will run her out of town on a rail and everyone connected with letting her in the door. You saw what happened when Alcoa's radio announcer thought he was coming to Maryville, the people rose up and stopped it.
    • 20 but had 5-6 not dressed every game. It went down towards the end due to injuries and obviously only 15 got to dress for the state tournament. Then, they only lost 2 from this year and gain 8 from the middle school for next year
    • As somebody mentioned before, this is going to result in a massive lawsuit, can you imagine professional "educators" actually having the conversation about getting "the bad kids" out of the high school?  And the head coach asking directly to change grades, gets turned down, comes back again and gets it approved?  This is unbelievable.  In addition to the lawsuit, the state Department of Education is going to come down extremely hard on this.  WYSH is on the war path.  There could be dozens more lose their jobs by the time this is over.  And yeah the real shame is the kids being affected that literally had nothing to do with this and actually worked hard to earn their grades.
    • I've heard Powell from someone who talked to him. I saw the kid two days ago and I should of pulled over and talked with him and wished him well where ever he goes. It will be a ale of a loss for us because I don't believe we have anyone in the stable good as him from what I seen in the spring.
    • I would have to think that the firing of the 2 teachers is just the beginning of future moves.  If not, it is woefully short.  If the AC school board thinks that the damage is just limited to Clinton, they are sadly mistaken.  Any outsider would view the whole school system as suspect, and rightly so.
