PRESEASON TOP 10

While Heritage is a good team that will get better and should contend for district championship, they are not at the same level as a Riverdale or other top 7-AAA teams. While Pryor, Knight and the freshman Wolfe are doing a great job in the post, guard play will be where the difference is. E TN has nothing like an Alexa Middleton and others similar to her to contend with. While I hope Heritage does extremely well, they struggle against ball pressure as witnessed by the press WB put on them last Friday. They have not seen ball pressure until they play the likes of a Riverdale or Science Hill.

I hope Heritage gets a chance the chance one day; not saying they will win but It would be a fun game to see. Heritage will get one of their starting guards back on Tuesday, don't know how much will see the floor. The way they have been playing they haven't missed her too much. But by the end of the season, hope to see some real good match ups from different Districts.

As far as ball pressure when your up by 17 or 18 points with couple of minutes left the urgent s of play isn't there. This is because they are all young. The starting 5 or 6 is 1 senior 3 juniors and 2 sophomores, they still have a lot to grow with.

You never no exactly who will win until you play the games, because inguries etc... (I just pray that all the girls in the state stay healthy)

The difference is Riverdale doesn't care if Heritage guards are young. They will apply relentless pressure on them the second the game starts and not call off the dogs. Heritage has a good team and will get better and I hope they have great success but the Riverdale's of the world are a cut above. HHS guards made several turnovers when WB applied full court pressure in the last 4 minutes of the game. I watched the same guard dribble to a sideline right into the trap 3 times and turn it over. WB press is nothing compared to some of the elite teams in the state.

You are right WB played very good, I wouldn't want to say anything against them.

I know that Heritage is playing better than they have in along time; nobody said they could win against all schools (but they wont back down either). 1st step is to play the games on your schedule, might never make it beyond.

But Heritage will surprise a few people along the way.

So I believe the goal is to place in the Top 4 of the District first.

Right now Farragut, Maryville & Heritage are tied for 1st in 4AAA but there are still a lot of games left

Good luck to your school in the rest of the year

But for me I am really proud of an 8 and 0 season so far

I agree. I used to live in M'Boro but now back in Blount County. I support all the Blount County schools and hope they are all successful.

Rough week for Heritage while the west knox teams continue to be strong. If Heritage can't get their chemistry back on track I think we are still looking at Bearden and Farragut at the top of the district. Farragut is the only one ready to take on the Riverdales and Science Hills of the state.

Farragut would not finish in the top 3 in district 7AAA with Riverdale, Blackman and Oakland.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
