What a fine measurement of the where you need to be at this Point of the season. The Irish from middle tn once again shows progress into January/feb

Jacob Stephens is flexing his muscles for a strong finish in TN wrestling as is bama's Mr. Womack who OU's John Smith says he is watching and I understand Cael is too... Very recently, btw

Impressive & interesting. ......Bringing up Mr. Womack and his Scottsboro team will also spice things up. I believe he won his 4th straight Al State championship and May be a Jr this season. 138?

I agree on the strength of the tournament. Good one to be a part of. Congrats to Scottsboro and Oak Mountain. Not the finish either had hoped for -- but both finished in a respectable spot. And yes, Brandon Womack is a junior this year -- now going for his 5th title (103, 103, 112, 126). Good luck to him and Scottsboro going forward.

Just wish they had a better way to get consolation placers. If you lose a match in round robin matches then you cant place higher than 5th. For example, @ 106 Navarro and McClure both lost in round robin, but McClure has already beaten the Scottboro kid this year head up and Navarro has beaten McClure three time now. Now i understand that Shankles from Scotts may beat them head up as with any match but we did not get to find out...

    • Looks like South Pittsburg added some more talent!
    • So much talk about an investigation about student record manipulation and then everything has went silent. Has anyone heard how the investigation is going?
    • Basically what you're saying is schools can basically bully students around and get away with it because they are protected. I agree to a certain extent but when schools decisions to keep knuckleheads on staff starts costing kids careers and a college education there is a problem. Our school system last week had a teacher supposedly push a kid and the parents went to the law and the teacher is suspended. So I wouldn't say that they can just do what they want without liability. This case don't pass the smell test because the coach had already been fired before and she got fired after a year on the job. Sounds like the student was right in this case on the outside looking in because the coach gets fired after one year. How many coaches get fired after one year?? Not many.
    • Problem with DB football goes beyond coaching. Like Waco said. Thr band is the main focus of their community and school. They have the resources to be a championship level team. Guarantee Ballard or Witten could have them nationally relevant at some point but everyone down to peewee would have to buy in and at DB we all know that would never happen.
