Why is DB always at home in the 2nd or 3rd round of the TSSAA Playoffs?

 

Who exactly do they play? Yes, DB plays Sevier County, and Farragut High School each season, along with other 6A School Science Hill, but they are playing 5A schools such as Boone, South and THS (usually tough games) and Crockett and Central (Always a blowout).

 

The starters, most games, never play a full 4 quarters, as the score is so high, there is no sense in playing 48 minutes. In the 6A Playoffs, Football is always going to be 48 minutes. Lately, DB staters have played 24-30 minutes of Football.

 

DB will lose in the 2nd round once again

A lot of things can happen between now and the playoffs.Bad things such as injuries,DB has already had happen this year to a very key skill player and we hope for a safe finish.If all goes well,Science Hill has a very decent team,and that will be a playoff team right before the first round.A good test before it counts the most,and a game that will take a very good showing by the Tribe.Round one will be a tough game this year,but whoever it is,DB has seen them or a team equal to them.Round two if DB advances,will be the same thing,another good team.IF DB has won them all to that point,Maryville will likely be the opponent.The last two years,DB has lost to teams that they were very equal two.Both those teams got destroyed by Maryville.So two or three tough games right before Maryville doesn't win you squat or help you prepare for the Rebs.DB will have good competition,but they will have to raise the bar against the Rebels.After that,as I've said on other threads,whoever advances out of the east,may have to play the toughest final four ever

Unfortunately the game probably won't be pretty but it will interesting seeing Swafford and Foreman in action. Haven't seen DB play since the thrashing they gave Farragut.

Dobyns-Bennett is so much better in many ways than in Week 0. The Defense plays most of the game so they are really dialed in...Turnovers have been minimal at best...maybe 4 all season. Special Teams are the best in the state, bar none.

 

DB has scored a TD on every first half possesion this year, except one, an INT that stopped a drive against South...and if you want to count 1 play with 6 seconds in a half a drive, go ahead and make it 2 possesions.

From what my Boone buddy told me about the Vikings, that trend will probably continue...give it 35-00 at half. And you are right, watching The DB DUO is fun.
