Best Coaches

I saw there was a topic titled "screaming coaches" that I felt really put some coaches in a negative light. It seems, way too often, that these boards are used to critcize good coaches. I am starting this topic for you all to name me the best head coaches/assistant coaches out there, across the state, today. What makes these guys good at what they do for a living?

Makes it more enjoyable if you say best coaches from a school other than your own. For example I know Brian Rector at Centennial is a great coach.. I watched what he did at Ravenwood and expect big things from CHS.

Stacy Carter. Great job at Sullivan South. Now he has Science Hill rolling.

Coach Grider at South Pitt is and always will be one of my favorite coaches. He does a wonderful job with a small bunch of kids. Those kids down there will sell out every play for the guy. He seems to really love his kids too. Has has produced a bunch of quality teams for years. His dad was a great coach too. Can't help it, Bill Price is a great coach too! Go Eagles!

As much as I'm not a Giles fan I say Coach O'connor for what he's done there. Great coach and he's really built that program to be a contender year in and year out.

Coach Steve Trapp of DeKalb County, He has done so much for high school football for the TIGER'S, He is down on there level and treats them all the same no matter if your a senior or a freshmen, If you win the starting job then it's yours. Thanks Coach Trapp

Joe Gaddis at Trenton. He took Gallatin to a state title a couple of decades ago. Then built Henry Co. up to the monster they have been the last several years. Now he has Trenton on the verge of winning a district championship and making alot of noise in the playoffs. He builds success every where he goes.

Witten at EHS. Turned a .500 team into conference champions

Derrick Davis at Polk County, gets everything he can out of what he has. Brought a program that had 6 or 7 wins in seven years too a team that has won at least 7 games a season except his first year went 2 and 8 he does more with less than any coach i have seen in a long time.

I can only speak for northeast tn but if I had to have one coach for my team for the year it would be Jeremy Jenkins at Boone. They overachieve every year, they play so hard, great schemes, and compete with the big schools (DB). Wins and losses fluxuate with talent, but good coaches establish programs for when the talent level is low and that is what I see every time I watch Daniel Boone play, a well ran program.
