Not a bad game considering the Cats are forced to play iron man ball, 8 kids playing both sides, real football... Cats are stil one of the smaller single A schools as Eagles move to AA next year. The coach already quoted he didnt like having to move up, I can tell ya now from experience AA is a lot tougher.. God luck!!

Monteray was not very good. If they have been scoring several points, then the defenses they played against could not be very good.

Monterey was 5-5. Of course they weren't very good.

I saw where Eagleville's coach was bragging about how they stopped Monterey's high powered offense. Puulease!

They finished 5th in our region.

Alot of the points they had scored were against backups.

Face it. Eagleville is not very good, and neither is Moore Co.

Whoever wins next week will get mercy ruled when they play SP or Gordonsville.

Learn to read a news paper article. That is a quote from the sports writer not the coach. Just because they may not beat Gordonsville or South Pittsburg does not mean they are not good 1a football teams. Go to your teams thread and brag on them instead of bashing teams you are not playing yet. If I remember correctly neither Gordonsville or South Pittsburg won the gold ball last year.

“It was just a complete team effort,†said Eagleville coach Steve Carson. “They were averaging 33 points a game and we held them to 14."

That's a quote from the coach.

Last year doesn't matter now.

And, compared to SP or Gordonsville this year, they are not good 1A teams. Facts are facts.

BTW, learn to read a newspaper article.rolleyes.gif
