rcpatriot
The middle school kid that is being spoken about is a great MS running back. I know that he's visited Baylor in Chattanooga and rumors have been all over the place about him going there next year. Football wise, he'd fit in to Baylor's offense....otherwise though not a good fit. CAK, why would that even be considered football wise? He's a running back and won't be highlighted at CAK. Not saying his parents are "lying" but will say that HS football aint MS football, and I hope he can handle the required academic load that he'd face, especially at a Baylor. FootballDad
Where does your 7th and 8th graders play football? Both Kingston and CAK. CAK has a middle school team. They are not eligible for TSSAA playoffs so they play a mixture of out lying schools such as the middle schools out of Oak Ridge and Maryville but also the Knoxville area teams that are middle school aged but are not sanctioned as middle school teams. The team is comprised of 6th, 7th and 8th graders. Over the past few years they have adopted the high schools offense and throw the ball an extraordinarily high number of times compared to most middle schools. Same terminology and formations are used.

Govolsknox
Looks like great football weather tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing how the Jackets have evolved and improved. Just hoping they haven't improved too much! Hope to see a big turn out of Jacket fans to support their team and especially the seniors! Come early and eat some grilled burgers and banana pudding. logcabinman
Yes we have a middle school logcabinman..and im just stating what the kids parents told me.i guess someone seen him play in the all star game or maybe someone said something.but i dunno why his parents would lie..it doesnt matter to me.if a kid wants to play somewhere else then they can as long as its by the rules and all. Where do they play and who, I thought if you were not a school you could not play other schools?

FootballDad
Congratulations to CAK on the 23-7 victory. Not one of the best performances of the year for the Warriors, but tis the season for surviving and moving on. Just happy we found a way to win. I thought Kingston played very well and had a good game plan. They kept the ball for 8-9 minute drives, thus, regulating CAK's offense to the sidelines. They kept everything in front of them on defense and made CAK use a lot of time scoring. Kingston's offensive line really were the workhorses tonight along with #21 for the Jackets. Congrats on a strong performance and a solid way to end the season if it must end.
Govolsknox
Hats off to the Jackets on a really hard fought game. That is a good football team that has made major progress since last year. I was impressed with Kingston's game plan and they played hard all night. Both teams played with class. I believe this new coach has the program headed in the right direction. Congrats especially to Kingston's seniors for finishing strong the last two weeks. goosevol
CAK hit a field goal with 6:12 in the second quarter to make the score 9-0. The next time they touched the ball was the 3:18 mark of the third quarter. That's a span of 14:54. One play that really hurt Kingston was the illegal formation call on third-and-inches at CAK's 35 with eight minutes to go in the game. It was 16-7 at the time and instead of getting a first down at the 31, they turned it over on downs two plays later on fourth and two. If Kingston could've cut it to 16-14 or even 16-10 there I believe the Jackets would have went for an onside kick with about five minutes to go. Heck they went for it on fourth down seven times tonight and I figured Coach Harrison would have rolled the dice again. Oh well, we can play the what-if game all night, but all-in-all a good game to watch and it will be a positive for Kingston heading into the offseason.
