Wayne County Wildcats: 2013

Collinwood has already got.its schedule filled. Green man said Statom had before school was out yesterda.

 

I wrote a different post, but I just deleted it. I read in the Columbia Daily Herald that the coaches in 11A and 12A had tentatively agreed to play one another for the next two years to help with the scheduling issues that the split has caused. Of course, the games will be non-district contests. It will probably change when Summertown fields a team beginning in 2015.

I hate this I hate the TSSAA I'll miss everyone in region 6 I thought we had a good thing going. Seems like nothing is going well since this here OBAMA! Ha

I saw a schedule today, Wc plays ParsonsRiverside at home, Hickman Co away, and Cwood in week 3. They go to Moore Coin week 4 and Richland in week 10. They play Loretto, Mp and Ca in the middle somewhere. PC is week 8 I think and I can't remember the other one. I know this is out of order but its off the top of my head.

Is Cornersville the other team? Don't know what to think about playing Collinwood in week 3 - that's going to be strange. It's cool that we are playing Decatur County-Riverside and Hickman County again. Actually have some history with them although we haven't played Riverside since 1969 and Hickman County since 1971 - Hickman was in our old football conference before the playoff era along with Loretto, Mount Pleasant, and Lewis County.

So Union City, Cascade, and Cornersville will be replaced by Hickman County, Riverside, and Fayetteville. Well I think the schedule will be about the same as last year in terms of difficulty. Maybe somewhat more difficult depending on how Fayetteville adjusts to their first year of varsity football - heard their supposed to be pretty good. Honestly, I was hoping that we would give ourselves an easier schedule over the next two years, I thought 4-6 might convince some of our old rivals to play us again, but I guess not. At least their won't be as much travel.

Fayettville came over and played our jv and played their varsity because they didnt have many players. They got some talent but short on depth.

I think he will be a little like both his brothers. He has a cannon of an arm like Tyler, but he runs the ball alot like Austin!

Yeah I know, but I was talking more about the non-region games we had already scheduled. We are playing several teams we haven't played in 40-50 years, a 3A quarterfinal team, and a 2A team that has been to 2 quarterfinals in the last 3 years. Not exactly the schedule anyone would expect a 4-6 1A team with plenty of old rivals sitting around to have to play. In general, we can't seem to play any non-district opponent for more than one scheduling cycle. Moore County and Lewis County are the only non-district opponents who have been on the schedule for more than two years in a row in the last decade (and LC won't play us now). That's why I think the split of Region 6 is and will continue to be bad for Waynesboro.

 

But it's not a terrible schedule. We've scrimmaged and played JV games with several of the schools over the last few years. Some of the matchups are interesting and I think we will be very competitive. It should be a good year.
