Folks there have a complex about it. I was among the cwooders for some time for near 5 years and studied their habits and mannerisms in the community and at sporting events. It's indoctrinated in them at a young age to have that "the world's against us" attitude. Makes me think of Nazi Germany or Alabama.

thats what people from waynesboro get for trying to think

NO wildcat89, not all private schools recruit. The ones that follow the rules and don't want to risk losing accreditation do not recruit. In fact, prospective students are told they will have to sit out a year of sports if they transfer to the school. So sadly, that limits new students that may want to attend. The only new players that come are ones that move from out of state. So saying that private schools recruit is false unless some rule has changed recently. If it has, please let us all know and the game will change!

private schools do recruit...thats why they have the two special divisions for private schools. Ones that don't recruit get to play in the public school playoffs

As one of the few who has seen both teams I'll give my insight. Either team can win! How's that? I think NCS has a better offense but I think Collinwood has a better defense. Up front I think it will be a pretty evenly matched game which should make for a close game. In the end I think NCS will have a little more fire power on offense and they'll pull out the win.

I was very surprised by NCS's 24-0 victory over CA as I thought CA was a better team but I see that CA was missing half of their starters so that explains it. Good luck to NCS this week! Represent District 10 as best you can.

Appreciate your knowledge being you all have just played both teams. Hey macattack you are mistaken on those players being out. Talk what you know! You will see Friday why NCS is where they are! Or is this another game that you will not see but comment on?

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
