Why, in your opinion, would Henry County want to leave their current district?

get better competion. to help for playoff runs.

Will Hardin, Munford, or whoever else travel any better than any of the Clarksville teams? It's a mighty long drive and I don't remember any of those teams bringing a crowd prior to realignment. As for your 2nd point, it's much easier to want to schedule more difficult opponents than to actually get the games. If they had to schedule 4 or 5 non-district games, I couldn't imagine how far they'd have to travel to find enough games. I imagine a couple of the Clarksville teams would be getting a phone call.

Probably teams like, Dickson, NE, Kenwood, then play some 6A's like Brentwood or other power houses. Only have to travel 2X's a year down that way instead of playing 3 or 4 times a year in Clarksville area.

I guess Millington could have been put into District 13 to make both 13 and 14 have 5 schools apiece, but I have no idea how that would have affect Millington's travel for district play. It seems that District 13 is just in a bad place and a four team district was a better alternative then to have two 5 team districts with Millington being the odd school out in District 13.

I'm more amazed that District 16 AAA had three teams that were eligible to play in 4A choose to stay in 5A. I had anticipated Melrose, Hamilton, and Memphis East were going to go down to 4A because their attendance numbers would have allowed them. Evidently they submitted the required paperwork to play up in 5A. However, looking at District 16 AA, I can see where TSSAA is happy that those schools elected to play up because that district has 10 teams. Had those three elected to play in 4A ... some schools would be traveling quite a bit to play in either District 14 or 15. I'm wondering if TSSAA has an incentive plan to have schools play up if it will help in district scheduling.
