Thanks Slim. I hope that I can be there. But my wife and I are expecting a child and we have a very early ultrasound the next morning to find out if it is a boy or a girl. I am game to go and hardly ever miss a Milan game. Just depens on how my wife feels as it is a 2 and a half hour drive. However, if I come.... I'll give ya a shout!!!

Thats awesome BPM. Congratulations! definately understand if you cant make it. Good luck with the new born!

A lot of people are putting CPA in the title game already but let me tell you, Milan is not just going to hand it to them. I intially pick CPA to win but wouldnt be surprised 1 bit if Milan gets it done. Championship/play-off exp. is to be accounted for; Milan is accustomed to play well in big games (w/ the exception vs. Alcoa). I believe this will be a won by 2 TDs (probably 1) at most regardless of the winner.....

Everyone keeps saying that about Milan/Alcoa...... but the games we played with them in the championship were decided by a couple of tds. Now don't get me wrong...... Alcoa was clearly the better team. But we played pretty good against them. We got embarrased by CAK.

BPM...awesome times with a little one on the way! I hope &pray the ultrasound goes great. Let us know if the Milan class of 2031 has another bruising linebacker in the wings....

If genetics has anything to do with it.... the baby will be a lineman like his daddy was!!! (If its a boy) Or if its a girl..... a team manager like her momma!! But that was a long time ago LOL!!!

From the Jackson Sun:

Here are a few more historical notes regarding West Tennessee football as we begin the week leading up to the semifinals:

• Milan will play its sixth consecutive state semifinal game on Friday.

The Bulldogs’ dominance of 3A football on this end of the state in November is nothing short of astounding.

It would be one thing if it were a couple of years when a good group of athletes were coming through or if they went for a couple of years, took two or three years off then returned for another run. But this is six straight years to be among the best in the state.

That kind of a streak is the definition of a dynasty, and the Bulldogs just need two more wins to put a gold crown on that reign.

I am from Huntingdon and I agree with that. Come on Milan bring it home from the west, you dont have to worry about Alcoa :) For those wondering what C.P.A. stands for I will tell you since the topic seems one sided so far:

Ok, we're just smart enough not to smack the hornets nest with a stick or yank the chain on a bulldog.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
    • That's a fair line. But if it's not over, that's a big problem.
    • RR, you think that changes this year, or at least improves? I know they had a couple of talented young receivers last year that made some plays later in the year. Defensive back was a struggle against any team that was above average at throwing the ball.
    • You would think they got a bunch of interest
    • You would think with football just three months away more would be talking. There's only so much a person can say about someone allowing the field to get painted without asking their boss who would have said ((((((((  ALE NO ))))))))) or all the other BULLS#!T they've done as they lead Maryville High into the new age of WOKE in a conversative town. I'm ready for some football news without hearing something coming out of 825 that Power Munger has done to cap off the week.
