Shame on both or all people that don't want to keep this one alive and well no matter who is at fault. This would be a major blow to both Henry County and Dickson County if this happens. The School Adm person is from Willamson County and still lives over there he doesn't even live in Dickson County. He wants the school system in Dickson county to be alined with those schools over there a big mistake in hiring this joker. We as people from Dickson and Henry Countries should stand up and say not way. I am very mad about this .

We in Henry County are very sad about this.but it appears that the die is cast Perhaps after 2 years DC will rethink this. In the meantime, good luck Cougars and GO BIG RED.

notredame66 this rivalry has gone on for 35 years or longer this is a shame on both ends. For the commuities that look forward for the game each year and the students and the fans and the players. So someone that doesn't even know live in our commuity can go back over to where he lives and say look what I have done this is a sad day in both Dickson County and in Henry County.

Week 10 was not open for Henry County. Not sure where you got that info. We have a district game scheduled that week, and uhh...we kind of have to play those...

Oldref58... I think Mr. Weeks is actually from Sumner Co., not Williamson Co. and I know he and his family will eventually move to DC sometime soon. I myself like the move to district 11-AAA but would have liked to see the HC game saved, but seems BOTH schools could not agree on an open date. Sad situation but maybe we can see what happens in 2 years or so and get this going again. I do not think the school board will care about a rivalry game against HC, or anyone else for that matter, when their emphasis is on education and not just one football game as it should be. Good luck to HC and GO DC!!

How Sir,can one football game harm the education process? That's a"politicly correct"answer and has no bearing whatsoever in regard to the post made.Just another example of someone detached from the community making uninformed decisions. In order for schools to thrive, administrators should have an agenda to INVOLVE the community with the school.Check the attendance(revenue) for the game on the scedule that replaces this tradition, and you'll understand better(and no,it's not just the money)the emotional ties to both school's communities in Paris and Dickson.

SIR...as my post said, the school board probably could care less what district we play in or who we play on Friday night's, they have a job to do and that job is to see that children are educated in our community and education comes before athletics and that is the way it should be. In regards to the post made from oldref, he said he was going to call his friends on the school board and make some noise, so to speak, but that will not do any good because each school administration makes scheduling decisions in athletics from the principal down to the the AD. Maybe he can call them? I did not say that playing this game would harm the education process in any way at all, so I do not understand how you got that impression, as a matter of fact I said that I would love for the rivalry to continue but I have no control over the situation. Also, if you are saying I am detatched from the community you have no clue at all because I have been involved in sports in DC for almost 40 years in one way or another. That was not a politically correct statement, just the facts about most school boards across the state, and I do agree that community involvment is crucial at all high schools and does make a difference on these kids playing sports, boys and girls, and they will remember it the rest of their lives. GO DC!!

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
