TN Coaches' Poll - Week 1

Now in its 21^st year, The Poll is primarily a measure of dual meet strength with some consideration to individual tournament strength. Votes are cast by a state-wide panel of high school wrestling coaches and are based on a maximum Power Ranking of 100%.

This shows a very close race for #1 with the top 2 teams separated by only 1 point.

 

There is then a small gap and a tight race for #3 with only three points separating 3-5.

 

Should make for a very interesting time at the state's toughest dual tournament, Cleveland Duals, next weekend if the teams that have been there the past few years continue to show up. That would have number 1-5, 7, and 11-12 at least in the tournament.

 

This weekend #2 and #11 are both traditionally at the BlackHorse Invitational at Houston High School. I am not sure if MBA is coming down again as I haven't seen a list of teams announced yet.

I was told the FR-Cleveland match (Alumni Wrestling Match - thanks to Coaches Yost, Schriver, Miller, & Phillips!) is Friday night (12/7) before the Cleveland Duals on Saturday (12/8).

Wow, that has to be the toughest tournament in the state without a doubt. Heck that is tougher than the state champiosnhips.
