District 8AA is blessed with some of the better girls' coaches in the state. This is the first year that I can remember, in close to 20 yrs. of closely following this district, that there are 4 teams legitimately capable of winning the district tourney. That being said, LA lost 4 starters from last years team. They are currently in 1st place in the district. Taking nothing away from the other coaches in district 8 who have done a great job, Coach Riddle should be the choice for COY.

It's weird. Both times we have played LA very well. The final score doesn't show how close it was. Maybe its just the girls on the court and the matchups, but we just seem to play them well.

Haven't seen either game, but with the amount of shots DC takes (usually) versus the LA zone, they're gonna score. It's the turnover game that has always plagued DC versus any team. Winner of the district/region will be Cannon or Livingston. Coach Riddle should be Coach of the Year doing what she has done after losing what she lost. That doesn't take anything away from Dodgen, Smith, or CM Coach. CC returned 95% of scoring, Smith had Hackett and we knew they would be hard to handle, and everyone knew CM would, and will, continue to get better. But, the consensus was that Livingston would be young and second would be the ceiling and probably third with Wright at York.

 

Speaking of York, why are they okay with being mediocre at best? They should be in the top three of this race right now but IMO they have gotten worse throughout the year. Should have kept Storie. Yes, I know there is a great group coming up, but they won't do what is expected with what is leading them at the moment. GO TO CLARKRANGE!

I'm also shocked at York. They've had some good talent come through the past few years. The veteran team last year should've done much better than they did...

York definitely has the potential. They beat Cannon Friday and it seems like it went under the radar.

Can Pat Cope get that big win Friday night vs Upperman. Will be very tough in Baxter, especially with Upperman coming off a huge win vs Smith Co Friday night. I believe we have to win opportunities running out and people want a district win. Heat turning up in DC. Pat Cope its time. Good luck Lady Tigers.
