Early Bird Tournament OR.

The first part of the season is to find out who your players are and who they aren't. That is what I would use these early tournaments for. I am impressed with all of our local teams and think there is a whole lot of talent in this county. We have great setters, hitters and liberos in this area and I wouldn't be surprised if a bunch of them go D1.

The CAK coach can do whatever he wants with his girls. I don't think there is a coach in this county that would put a girl somewhere that didn't help the team. I don't think he would either. It hard not to say that she wouldn't be a dominate force no matter where she played on the court. She's 6'6" for goodness sake. Congrats to her for choosing UCF!!!

I'm done with this topic.

Great job by all teams no matter where you played this weekend. Good luck this week wherever you play. Stay healthy!!!

As many club players as they have, and the size, there is no excuse to lose to Webb or Baylor. Do you think the coach is making the right move not playing the tall girl in the middle?

I think CAK is loaded with the most talent in knoxville, and have generally been supportive of the coach. But, I am concerned that he is out of his league with the talent he has, and doesn't know how to use the height?

I really liked the asst he had last year, and thought she was great. Is that causing a problem?

Now you have your excuse for losing to Webb and Baylor. State Champions and State Runner ups.

    • “facts” or better yet ‘opinions’ had been up for weeks/months. that’s not why the thread was deleted. get over yourself.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
    • 7 Pages of complaining because the lacrosse team put removable lines on the field so that they could practice/play lacrosse  Y'all boys are bored huh lol
