Hard to top this...

The final 2012-13 InterMat rankings featured 96 wrestlers that competed in the 2012 Super 32 Challenge. This includes six wrestlers that ended the season ranked first in the nation - Super 32 Challenge champions Nick Suriano, Joey Dance, Zain Retherford, Mark Hall, and Kyle Snyder; along with Aaron Pico, who finished as runner-up in the tournament.

Also of interest is that Snyder was named the InterMat Wrestler of the Year, while Retherford was selected as the national winner of the Dave Schultz High School Excellence Award. In addition, over 200 participants from the 2012 Super 32 won a state title, New England Regional title, or National Prep championship at season's end.

At the 2013 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships, seven of the finalists were wrestlers that had competed in the Super 32 Challenge during their high school career. This includes four-time national champion Kyle Dake (Cornell), along with two-time champions Jordan Oliver (Oklahoma State) and Ed Ruth (Penn State). Those finishing as runners-up this past year included Tony Ramos (Iowa), Mitchell Port (Edinboro), David Taylor (Penn State), and Dustin Kilgore (Kent State). Of the 330 wrestlers to qualify for the tournament, 93 were past Super 32 Challenge participants, 25 of whom were All-Americans.

Wonder how this tournament will compare to the Super 32? Perhaps Brandon Womack and Elijah Oliver went there instead.

Not even close!!!  USA Wrestling Pre-Season nationals will have some good wrestlers but the depth at Super 32 is unreal.  Just look at 106-126 and you have multiple national place winners in each weight classification along with most of those weights having around 150 kids.  Super 32 is a true national tournament where most of the wrestlers at the pre-season nationals are from the Midwest.  IMO, it is more of a regional tournament with a few national kids attending.

After looking at the registration names and numbers I feel that Kramer could place very high at Super 32.  He is a good wrestler and only has about 30+ wrestlers at his weight.  It looks like most of the 220 & 285 kids must be playing football on Friday night.  I would like to see how he did against a top ranked national wrestler.  Will Kramer attend Ironman or Beast of the East as an individual participant?
