SC is not very good at all although they try very hard. Much much respect to the kids and coaches of that program. This is their first year playing varsity football. This game will played with a running clock in the 2nd half. Bears win big

I agree much respect for Sale Creek....It is tough to start out with a varsity schedule..most teams start with JV only but big props to school staff and coaches for letting their SRs. have a full schedule.....What did you think about the Midway win and what do you think the Bears will look like in 4 weeks?

Was a big win Friday against Midway.  We didn't play as well as I thought they would.  I think 3 times inside the 15 have to come away with points...  doesn't matter if it is 3 or 6 just have to have points.  If Tellico had attempted field goals possible was possible to have been up 30-13 going into the last drive by midway.  But looking at your players in OT down 1 and saying u want to play to win or play another series.  All saying we will win this right here lets go for 2 coach.  Puts a lot of confidence in your team and will pay dividends in the weeks to come I believe. The mentality of of this team has changed!

HUGE win for TP. I think they will continue to get better and better with each week that passes

Teams in the past would have lost to Andrews and Midway. This is a very well coached team.(Although, I didn't like the play calling before the last fumble).

And with all due respect to Sale Creek, but they may be the worst team to ever come to Tellico. But hopefully, our guys will have enough respect for the opponent to play their best. Football is the hardest sport to build upon, and I have respect for the school for letting their Juniors and Seniors play, and having a Varsity team.

One day, those guys will win their first game, and it will be something awesome for them. Look for that to happen in year 3.

I hope to see some of the young guys play early. Once again no disrespect to Sale Creek. But it would be good for the # 2's to get some time in. Never know when the injury bug might hit. It has already hit in a few places...Maybe even get a back up QB some time..Now that 17 isn't playing we need to get the other QB's some reps......

I have a feeling that 2's and some 3's will get some time Friday.  I myself hope that they play the whole 2nd half.  If they do then that means Tellico will have done exactly as they are supposed to have done.  I hope the back up QB has learned the plays enough to get the time Friday, that from what I hear has kept him from seeing action already.  Homecoming week for the Tellico Bears got the big town tailgate party Thursday.  GO BEARS!!!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
