Greeneville @ West Greene

The classless showing of not meeting to shake hands trumped any conversation that could be had about the 79-7 blowout that Greeneville put on West Greene. It's one thing to run the score up, but to tell your kids to walk off the field and not shake their opponent's hands is awful. I have spoken about the ridiculousness that some Greene Devil fans show in support of their team, but this far out weighs any of that. If there is ever a book written about the history of West Greene's football program, this will be mentioned. The only question left unanswered is whether or not it will be for the betterment, or the start of a downward spiral in Mosheim.

If the reason for going for 2 after scores was because a manager was not given a ball after an extra point kick, then we had at least 2 childish coaches on the field last night.

The reason for going for two on that particular end of the field was not because of a manager that refused to give Greeneville the ball. Greeneville's kicker was kicking the ball far into the woods behind the WGHS locker room and the ball was never found. Therefore, in an attempt to not lose another ball, Ballard decided to go for two on that particular end of the field.

Ok, Greeneville will probably have a hard time replacing that ball.

If you listened to the Morning After Show on WGRV. You would have heard Coach Ballard explain about losing the ball. The footballs cost $70 each. Greeneville scored 4 or 5 touchdowns on that end of the field. So your looking at a loss of $280-$350. In today's economy that is a lot of money to lose for any program!!! Who in their right mind would chose to throw away money like that?

This is one of the funniest posts I have read in awhile.

    • Good ole Bradley Zulliger. He was a really good QB @ OR. Fun to watch.
    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
