Just wondering how this one will go.  After going to GB and not playing well and taking one on the chin will Bears be ready

I hope the Bears will respond...It will be Senior night and if we win we at least tie a record for home wins. The 59 team was undefeated at 9-0 not sure if they had 4 or 5 home wins but even the '94 team that end 9-1 lost at home to Meigs that year. So it would be cool for the boys to do that....But i will tell you this they need to come out with a little more focus....

trying to figure out the playoffs man you have to have a degree in Quatum Mechanics to know what will happen..lol....but if Tellico wins Friday where will that leave them playoff time? You think they get a home playoff game? What if Tellico and Rockwood end up with the same record at 7-3 will they look only at the matrix or will head to head matter as far as seeding?

If Rockwood, Tellico Plains & Greenback finish tied for 2nd place. Greenback will be 2nd, Tellico Plains would be 3rd, Rockwood will finish 4th. Here is why

1. Overall Victories- all 3 would end up 7-3 so you go to the next tie breaker

2. Teams on schedule that won 50% or more of their games- Greenback has played 7, Rockwood played 5 & Tellico Plains played 5. So Greenback would finish 2nd. Then you go head to head on Rockwood vs Tellico Plains. Tellico beat Rockwood so there 3rd and Rockwood 4th.

Tellico Plains & Rockwood would be wildcards

Yep and looks like if everything plays out like it should we will be playing Rockwood in the 1st round of the playoffs...Don't think 2 teams from the same district should have to do that maybe 2nd or 3rd round for sure but to have to play each other in the first round kind of cheats the district a little....either way should be an interesting game when the Bears and Tigers meet again....my worry is only this.....will they count the head to head if we go as wildcards? now if we have to play RW again that is fine but we should be at home if we do..That is what you are saying right? biggest thing is would love a home playoff game!

Yeh this playoff thing is crazy because I think the winner plays GCA agaiN

Yep they sure will...that is the nature of the beast...think about this our district is tough and I think we could make some noise against other districts but we are gonna knock each other out....I know in Georgia the only way 2 teams from the same district can meet in the playoff is in the finals....Now not sure anyone will beat GCA but both RW and TP has played them already I just dont think we should meet this early in the playoffs....but he it is the playoffs and that is something we at TP havent seen in a while so we will take whatever draw we get!

Well don't guess there is a whole lot to say about this one.  Everyone seems to think Tellico will take this one... I do to.  The Bears had better show up early and play the whole game, cause m

Megis want roll over and let them have it.  This will be a very emotional night as it is the last game of regular season and senior night for the Plains Gang.  I have loved watching this group of seniors play there 4 years and very glad they were a part of helping get things turned around.  I will miss watching all of them play, but 1 more than most.  GO BEARS!!!!!!!   Good football, good food (Pork Palace) No place better on Friday nights than on the hill in Tellico Plains..

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
