Cleveland @ White Co. Tssaa round 1

Recommended Posts

talked to one of our players last night and he and many of the other players have noticed that no one is giving them a chance. that everyone has penciled in cleveland already to move on. i myself am guilty of that also. he kinda laughed and said that they have worked hard this week and are focused. he said that they really believe that they can beat cleveland so we will see i guess. go warriors!

As it should be!

I know for a fact that the Raiders are not looking past White, and are taking them very seriously. Cleveland can ill-afford a letdown getting in the way of their first playoff win with Coach Crawford.  They are focused and have been preparing diligently this week.  The mood is not light, and there is no talk of "next week".

Playoffs are what they are, and they exist for a reason.  If we could simply predict the favorites to move on, we'd have two teams chosen to fight for the gold ball already...or even maybe we would have chosen the winner by now.

Nothing matters right now except Friday night.

Coach Crawford will not look past anybody........ Blue Raiders will be ready for this game. I am going to give my opinion but 1st know that I am East Ham guy 1st and a 5AAA guy second so it may be slanted just a little.

Cleveland is the most dangerous team in this quad and may also be in the East. I think they have an advantage if the reach the semi finals and meet West, it is really hard to beat a good team twice even more so when they have a coach like Crawford.

Cleveland has a gun slinger that also can tuck it and run, he also a very smart QB that takes direction very well. He also has some very good weapons to throw it too. There O line has gotten better all year, and the guy in the middle the center is a stud. The D had issues early on but is much improved. There D was the only D that really stopped a very good East Ham team of the 21 points East Ham scored 7 was on a kick return, and the other was a short pass to a SEC guy who made a good cut and a DB made a very bad mistake on the play. Oh by the way the same kid had the kick return. There really was no other team this year that really stopped the Canes on O not Ooltewah #6 hurt them bad in the open field and I was told that is were the injury happened in the 1st half that put him for the season although he played 3 more games with it. That also includes Kingsport DB, and good Riverdale team. I think this team has peaked just at the right time; the running game has clicked in and will only support the passing game. Cleveland does not shoot itself in the foot with stupid yellow flags.

I do not know White County, and they are a good football team, but researching there schedule, mainly these 4 games. Rhea County a loss scored only 6 points seen Rhea good team but only 6 points, Beat Chattanooga Christian who game up over 50+ points to Notre Dame, Signal and Silverdale. Scored 22 points vs. Stone Mem. And a loss to Seq, who got it handed to them by Walker Valley. I know it’s not like seeing them live but it is what I have to go on.

I see Cleveland winning this one….. by a 2 or 3 scores. But there are 2 factors nobody can predict, 1 White is at home, and it is there shot at making a statement they will be pumped…. They could jump on the Raiders and they might not respond, Flags and turn overs could factor in, more so in the very cold weather and there is the other key factor. White Co has the advantage there can the Cleveland skill players over come being cold.

Yes I think they can….

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
