Damon Smith coaching at MBA?

I heard that former Father Ryan Coach Damon Smith is going to try to revive a malnourished program at MBA that has seen brighter days. Smith has almost single handedly led many of Father Ryan teams to win state and I heard he is taking his leadership skills to the rival Big Red. This could be a huge boost to the MBA program and could start them on the right path to beat Father Ryan this year or the next. Because Smith has trained many great state champs like 3x Wes Wesley, 2x Tj Holmes, Cole Moseley wrestles at American, Mark Marchette and Patrick Marchette both wrestle and wrestled at West Point (also upcoming further champ Eli King). Coach Smith has a great ability to train wrestlers for the next level and win state championships. The rest of the state better watch out for MBA in the coming years.

I bet Frank Simpson is ecstatic to possibly welcome the Okie to his coaching staff. After numerous attempts to snag smith from Ryan, he finally may have his chance! Damon's ability to work with boys is really something, his accolades at TFI were impressive. They're kicking themselves at Ryan over the possible loss of Smith to a rival. Word on the street is that the Irish are conversing with Smith now on a possible new contract so long as he doesn't cross back to the other side of West End. Wouldn't be surprised if you hear rumors that Damon is gonna move to Chatt soon to teach and coach at tbsfbag. Stay tuned.

If the singing cowboy is switching over to MBA, coach Frank will gladly welcome his contributions. Ryan will continue their 40 year traditions and welcome a more competitive rival!

Really Sommers you amaze me "gladly welcome " I think not. This is the man who trash talked the MBA wrestlers last year during the match. Not to mention he even trash talked coach Simpson son after the match. So as far as gladly welcome his contributions we'll it does not look like there are a lot of teams lining up for his tutelage. Maybe he needs to just sell houses.

Hi wrestling community--thanks for your curiosity about my current coaching status.  I can tell you that none of the above posts are accurate regarding that topic.  I want to wish all the wrestlers great success and a healthy season.  I'll be watching for you on top of the podium.

And yes, the real estate business is going quite well.  :D

Then why didn't you tell everybody that you're going to be coaching at Franklin High School

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
