Well I kept waitin for someone to get us started so here we go. I know we return several key players from last years team and Unaka lost everything but carrier and UH should be pretty good and cloudland lost their coach. With all that said, I believe the dogs take the conference.

What happened to Cloudland's Coach?  Is he still coaching somewhere?

Went to another school to become principal. Great move for his family. He is a great guy I hope he gets back into coaching soon.

Hampton lost two big men Murray and Fields, but I believe McClain is back with a couple of others who contributed last year. Stanley Valentine will be one to keep an eye on

What's the deal with the Valentine kid? From what I was told he's been in 4 different high schools in the last 3 years; Science Hill, Happy Valley, Daniel Boone and now Hampton. Is this true?

You sure? Only reason I ask is cause the person that told me said Valentine was at Happy Valley two years ago and this guy's son goes there.

He went to Boone as a freshman then transferred to Hampton after playing with Boone during the summer between his 9th and 10th grade year. He was recruited by McClain and the Hampton assistant at the sports complex. Valentine and his dad was not happy because Boone coach would not allow him to play where they wanted him to play and that was the guard position. So they transferred to Hampton. That's the truth behind the situation. They moved to Hampton and are completely legal as far as TSSAA goes. But it is a move that has cost a loss of respect for Smith and Hampton Basketball in our area from most of the coaches, fans, and even a few of the Hampton folks.

Time for bball Hampton should be favorite this year. We lost a lot at Unaka although I think we are still gonna be pretty good. Cloudland will figure in there as well. Should be some good bball in CC.
