NCS is a good team this year, I don't think many question that this year.... Something had to go wrong on JB's behalf for the score to be so lopsided against them..... JB's has pretty much always gave opponents a fit in the playoffs with games coming down to just a difference in 1 point or 2..... Well, public vs public anyways..... I see privates moving on by several points tonight vs publics.... The age old fight between privates vs publics will no doubt heat up yet again for another year after tonight. Bank on it.

Turnovers happened!  The score didn't reflect how close the game actually was.  We failed to score on 3 different occasions inside the redzone.  The game changer for me was when JB had NCS in a 4th and 12 near the end of the first half and NCS converted it.  It's a shame because there was an obvious block in the back on the play and it happened right in front of the head judge (pitiful).  That allowed NCS to keep the drive alive and they scored to end the half 14-7 and they got the ball to start the second half and scored again.

Regardless of all that, NCS was the better team and they won.  I just hate the way the game went with all the turnovers.  I wish we would have given ourselves a chance but it wasn't meant to be.

Good luck to NCS the rest of the way and represent District 10 well!

Well jus got home and Wuts due is due, congrats on NC moving on but it come with some costly gifts from the Devils but ya know that's Wut pretty gud teams do, convert turnovers. The boys in red certainly had some really good opportunities to score inside the redzone but really struggled with the turnovers,,, and dang that 4th and 12 conversion for a first down with 14 sec to go in the half and we give up 6, that was a killer ! Both teams competed very well and the team that was able to convert turnovers into points won the game... Guess it's jus tough knowing the game was much closer than the score, much closer ! JB boys you played as expected ! With valiant efforts and great desire to win, jus wasn't meant to be on this night !

Cheese and crackers with that whine? You must have come up with the classless banner the JB cheerleaders made

I agree on the sign...there was no need for that.  I'm not sure who was responsible for that but we're better than that.  I have no idea what they were trying to accomplish?  Were we trying to make excuses before the game even started?  Bad idea for sure...

For those that didn't see it, I think it said "SORRY...WE DON'T RECRUIT!"

Yep I had the same reactions around me.  Nobody was impressed, more shocked than anything.

Hey guys,  No big deal on the banner - you know that.  More weird than offensive.

Here's the big deal for me and once again just goes to show that your boys are in great hands with Coach Adkins.  He walked over to my son during warmups and told him that no one from JB would be "going after" him like the CA boys did.  You should have seen the smile on his face when he told us that story.  Coach A made a fan for life.

Thanks wildcat. Sorry yours went the other way. Was really hoping to get a look at the freshman. You guys should make the trip to NCS next week. I know you'll need to pull for the team that beat you but it should be another fun Friday night.

We talked about coming up next week but will have to wait and see what's going on as it gets closer. I'm not going to be for either team, I just want the team to advance from our quad that has the best chance in the next few weeks!

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
