Here goes. At risk of getting all mid state privates pissed off. The fact is all privates recruit. They have to to get students. They sell parents and students on academics, arts, and athletics. They have to have students to stay in business. To do that they must have a product that is at least perceived better than what public schools can offer. T$$AA doesn't have the resources nor IMO the desire to monitor private/tuition schools recruiting practices or financial aide packages provided to students.

With that being said the eventual split is inevitable. This will happen no later than 2017 and could be as early as mid term of classification period. At that point private school athletics could take a big hit as a selling point for privates. This would be due to the fact only a handful of privates can compete at a high level. Just saying.

Doesn't p---- me off. I agree with you. When you charge for a product (private school) and people can get it for free (public school), you have to have an excellent product and sell the benefits of the product versus the free one. The issue has always been the difference between "attracting' and "recruiting", and giving away the product versus getting people to buy it because they want it.

I agree the split is inevitable, and CPA will accept the ruling and deal with it, just as they have accepted the current rules. Don't think they will take that much of a hit as they offer a more Christian based curriculum than most privates and parents still want that.

Sportsnerd, you are exactly right, privates do have to recruit with public schools for students. That is exactly why there should be a split. CPA has more D-1 players on this team than most public schools will have in 20 years if at all. It is an unfair playing field.
