first of all, coming from a Livingston fan. I was sad to see the wildcats lose at stone and was not impressed by their some-what-of-a-win against Jackson county. I am concerned about tomorrows game, as well.....what are your thoughts? Eldridge doesn't have Ramsey anymore to hide behind, and I've been told half of their "team" is suspended for drugs. Garrett and Ferrell tore it but against Gordonsville and before anyone starts talking about that, lets remember we beat Jackson by 4. I hope I'm wrong, but I really hope Miller gets it figured out soon.

I watched Gordonsville play PC last Monday night and Gordonsville is a pretty good team. To my knowledge, PC hasn't beaten LA in a number of years. This is PC's best chance to win for some time. PC has a deep bench (9-10 players), which will help in tightly called games. I believe this game will come down to coaching adjustments and the tempo of the game. 67-58 PC.

73-72 Pickett Co. won in OT. LA is definitely down from last year (minus Eldridge kid, he had 16 of the first 24 points with 32 total). Not sure why he wasn't the focus to stop on offense during first half. Anyway, Edwards gave PC a spark with 4 second half threes. After watching him play at CR last season, he brings a grittiness that PC needs to finish out games like these.

GO BOBCAT we play a great game the Edwards kid can shoot the light out, this year he will be a big help down the road look like we state bound. The way i see it one team in our way that Goodpasture in 8A.Nobody in 7A will hold us a light to deep 9 or 10 players to talent we got a bunch of shooters.we need to get started on a tropy case to hold all the awards this year. STATE BOUND BOBCATS

  • 2 weeks later...

The person in 7A which could hold them back is Coach Moon. He is why no one tried to stay on Eldridge. They lost to Monterey because he started a short line up against the tallest team in the district...Monterey. He keeps Kyle Hughes on the bench even though he led the district in scoring last year. When PC pressed against Monterey it helped them come back from 13 down, went up by 3 and then quit pressing. He never makes adjustments and while the team is loaded with talent, the endless substituting every minute or two keeps them from ever getting in a flow. Everyone in the stands is grumbling all game, every game.

Not entirely true, while i think PC is talented, i believe Monterey is the best team in the district and by beating PC in Byrdstown they have an early lead on the district title.

Unfortunately, I agree about what is holding PC back, the coach. He is learning on the job (which everyone does to a point), but PC's team has a team identity crisis. They seem to go from up tempo, force turnovers to a slow-it-down type team. PC is up tempo team that has to create turnovers and wear the other team down in order to win. I have watched a few games this year and the new line-up change seems to be a "I'm making my point" move. However, this coach seems to have been really tough on the Hughes kid. (granted this is from a fan's prospective (however, even my wife mentioned it the past couple seasons and she rarely attends)).

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
