Alright, I have poked and jabbed BigSWO and cant bring him down to my level.  He obviously has a better perspective on high school football that the average T poster.  Prob having 2 sons in the military will do that.  No need to shy away from any attention you receive for their service, they earned it, as have you.

Not to add to the Swo love fest that has spontaneously broken out but I know first hand how hard it is to get Swo to smack talk. Back in my obnoxious and annoying phase last year I poked and jabbed him leading up to the Huntingdon game for at least a couple weeks and he just wouldn't take the bait. Although I did get him to state Huntingdon would "stomp a mud hole in dem dar Eagles and walk it dry"!  He described perfectly about Warbritten and the Stang Stampede and I just refused to believe it. Then I witnessed it. That Swo don't exaggerate. The man knows his stuff.

That said I'm comforted by his opinion UC doesn't have a Warbritten caliber of player this year. Swo is much less confident and he is worried!

I'm sure NCS's coaches have made some inquiries to and received advice from high school and college coaches on how best to stop the veer.

I agree with monkeywrench in that you tackle the dive man every play by crashing the end, then have the LB tackle the QB (with great force) every play and force the pitch for the rolled up safety to deal with. Sooner rather than later there are going to be fumbles. The veer thrives when you allow reads to be made, so eliminate the reads and you reduce the opportunities for big plays while increasing the risk for turnovers. UC is going to have some success, but "VEERY" little. :roflol:

UC better have a stable full of backup QB's cause #52, #50, #44, #58, & #34 among others are going to hammer the QB every play.  As pictures are worth a thousand words, enjoy this video which shows what UC's QB('s) can expect every play.......

The Veer can be stopped, the Defense can be  coached on how to stop it .  Dont let last year scare you, there was no general method to stop what huntington did.  No one had seen that since the twenties.  I still dont know what you call their version, but it was ingenious.

You speaketh the truth my brother! Here are links to UC's game against Peabody on Oct 25, 2013 so you can see this veer offense. Why in the world didn't Peabody's LB's spy the motion guy every play?

I've stated that UC reminds me of last years Huntingdon's team and they do. I'm not saying they have a Warbritton because they don't (thank goodness). You rarely find players like the warbritton brothers. But like swo stated they do the same things by committee. The fullback is a brusier, the RB has speed and the QB has a little of both attributes. Can the veer be stopped? Absolutely! It will take a very athletic, disciplined team that don't get tired, ever. From the sounds of it NCS might have that team. Should be an awesome game. Please post scores during the game cause some of us will be stuck at stupid basketball games.

i am afraid being close to the action has clouded your vision.  i looked at your schedule and cant find a good team on it.  be proud you won west tennessee, but you havent faced a team like this one,  early on i thought district 10 was just down this year, as the year went on i have come to believe NCS is just that much better than the rest of us.  I hope UC does well and makes a game of it but i dont see that happening.  If NCS just runs #34 behind #52 and #50 and runs nothing else they would still win.

If you couldn't find a good team on UC's schedule you definitely have very limited knowledge of west Tennessee football. Three of those teams that aren't good have played for the state championship in the last 6 years and they continue to be strong programs. BTW, in our area Gleason beat McEwen as bad as ya'll did so possibly a whizzing contest would not be best to start over such. With that said, UC will bring a very fine team to Nashville that obviously you have no concern about. If your team and coaches share your opinions, you will be looking for crow recipe's after the game. Contact me or Butchie then as we have quite a few of them.

Some will try to argue about last season's offense for Huntingdon but it was basically a single wing on steroids.

did a little on-line research and #50 is the only current NCS player with a D-1 offer. Vandy has offered him and he has interest from ol miss, tn, and clemson.  #34 just a sophmore cant be offered, with his size and speed, he very well may be D-1.  Dont be fooled by unofficial visits. While its exciting for the kids, big schools hand out a lot of unofficial visits that never materialize into a future official visit.  If your taking your pen and paper you may want to get NCS # 52 autograph, Prob undersized for D-1 but prob best football player on field.  Bigswo apparently doesnt like that i call it the way i see it and that i dont participate in the Chip and Dale routine that he has going with some of the NCS posters.  Maybe ya'll should move your love fest over to Christianmingle.com.

Come on now man, BigSwo is good people. As good as you will find on here. Yellow flag, Personal Foul!!!! Actually most all the UC posters will be good ones. Most all of us area UC supporters posting will simply state facts and not sling any mud. BTW, don't be quite so sure of the outcome of this one. UC is very capable and has paid the price to be coming to see your guys. It's easy to say from the stands but in high school a well run Veer is very tough to stop.

Go UC!!!!!! Bring it back west!!!!

If we can withstand a few quarters of the veer, I'm just wondering if we can't build up an insurmountable lead by the time it starts wearing on us.  If we get the same turnovers/field position that Humboldt got, we would definitely have some points on the board.  Especially if presented those opportunities early in the game.  Those 4th downs where Humboldt went for it and failed would be 3 points for us.  Just trying to think this through.
