17 seniors are hard to replace. But I counted 61 at the ND game a tech. That leaves 44 soph-seniors next year assuming no new players move in, quit, or come out who didn't play last year. That's a good number of upper classman to have on a 3a team. And with the recent turn around of the program, who knows who floats over from Cookeville. I don't see them winning district in 14, but tgey should win 6 games, maybe 7 with loses to DC, LA...either GH or SC, maybe both. Anyone know who their qb will be in 2014?

Was their back up qb this season a senior? If not, wouldnt it be his job to lose pretty much?

ok done some research with my work buddy. The backup, was a Soph. Tall lanky kid with a big time arm, about 6'2 1/2. Apparently is a heck of a baseball pitcher to. Problem is, second half of an early season game in mop up duty strained his knee and was out for the season. That same kid played a lot as a freshman after York got hurt. Had a few starts last year. Was told he had a couple td's thrown last year and one this year before hurt. The kid that ran mop up duty the rest of the season was a jr Phillips #10. He was a starting wr/db but played back emergency qb also in mop up duty. This year the tall Jr will be qb, probably some freshman as the backup and jv qb, and sr #10 still as emergency qb if the starter goes down while game is in question.

    • I have no idea who your team is, but Memphis and other Shelby Co. schools have hardly made a dent, if you’re talking Game 15 appearances. Outside of a couple by Whitehaven, I can’t recall the last team in a final.
    • Robbed you guy at a chance of 3 state championships. You never kne, sond best team in the west my have beat you also, but you sure deserved the chance to play um.
    • Eagleville also loses Brown the catcher, Lamb CF, Mclemore RF (Heck of an athlete) and Drew the 1st baseman. They will be young.
    • Good thing we aren’t in Florida then huh? It would benefit a ton of the smaller schools  that don’t have the pools of kids to choose from! They should start by policing Shelby County like they do the rest of the state! Something has to change though and TSSAA knows that!
    • Correct, you can whimsically be fired in coaching. A coach that has tenure can stay on as a teacher if released from coaching. If you don’t have tenure as a teacher, you can fired without cause. Your last year as a teacher before tenure is earned you can be fired, but must be given cause. A tenured teacher can be fired, but it is a long hard process requiring the 3 D’s…. documentation, documentation and documentation. I have released 3 tenured teachers, 2 with PHD’s. However, teacher contracts had and still have clauses that state you can be fired for a variety reasons re: being arrested, public drunkenness, inappropriate relationships ect.
