WC's qb will not be back. #24 will be the QB. I only caught a few plays i havent been able to make it to a full practice because of work.. and i moved to Milan... ugh. but the line looks pretty formatable, but young. it'll be an interesting year in Atwood i dont quite know what to make of it. 5-5 6-4 range maybe but hopefully they have adjusted

Dude.. wow.. not being from around here, and only living here a few years, I did not know who plays in what districts etc, so I finally looking at them all, and whoa.. 14A is stacked! I thought our 13A was loaded, but honestly your district has more teams and many of which are perennial powerhouses. Ya'll only get to play 3 non-district games too, not good imo, playing out of district helps to heighten your level of competition, including playing bigger/higher class teams. We get to play 5 non-district. But the teams in your district will give you plenty of competition anyways, so yeah, much respect to 14A. And glad that several of the schools there pick lowly 1A Dresden as your non-district game, thus considering us worthy competition. I wonder, has 1A or 2A teams ever played 5A or 6A in regular season? Dresden does in 7on7 and in scrimmages (doing very well against too!), and only playing up to 4A in the season, I guess during season any class can play any other if both teams agree, right? Just imagining what I'd do if I were a coach planning schedules. Ha! I tend to think I'd play the best from any class, even biggest schools if allowed to. I rambling now.. sorry. Good luck everyone, my main wish is injury free season!

Union City is the heavy favorite. Peabody and Humboldt lost a lot of players but will still provide a challenge. Don't sleep on Lake Co. They are much better than last year by all indications. If LC can stay healthy and catch a few breaks they could finish second. You never know what is going to happen in high school football. UC should be very good and win the district and state but a lot of things must go right for that to happen. A team must be good, stay healthy and catch a few breaks along the way to win a state title. UC is a very good team but the other two things have got to happen for them to repeat. Looking forward to the football season and all that comes with it.

I agree completely. Don't worry. Uc will never sleep on LC. In fact I think there is more of a focus this season on intensity. Last year was great but that's the past. these boys want to remove any doubts about who they are. Ive heard it said that last year don't mean a thing without another title to back it up. But...........like you said being good is only the beginning. Staying Healthy and catching a few breaks is what will get us back to the title game.

    • Groves got the ball over 20+ times. His son arguably played the best for East in that game. 3rd and long multiple times and he came up big to continue a couple drives. Please shut up for the 3rd year in a row
    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
