Class AAA Mr. Basketball Ballots

This thread is for Class AAA Boys: The ballots have been sent to me and other voters. Please give us your suggestions. Negative comments are not affective in this thread and are not welcome!! We want to know who to consider, not who not to consider.

The Mr. and Miss Basketball Awards will be presented to the top girls and boys in five classifications of the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association at the state basketball championships in March.

This group is to include three finalists for Miss Basketball and three for Mr. Basketball in each classification. The winners of the coveted award are to receive the distinguished Mr. and Miss Basketball trophy with the other finalists being presented plaques.

The awards will be presented for each classification prior to the championship game awards presentation for each class, respectively.  The presentation of the Mr. and Miss Basketball Awards for Division II will be given on Saturday, March 1 at Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville.  

The presentation of the Miss Basketball Awards for Division I, Classes A, AA, and AAA will be given during each championship awards ceremony for each class on Saturday, March 8 at the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro.

The presentation of the Mr. Basketball Awards for Division I, Classes A, AA, and AAA will be given during each championship awards ceremony for each class on Saturday, March 15 at the Murphy Center on the campus of Middle Tennessee State University.

Any player at any of our member schools is eligible to receive votes, and I would encourage you to take a moment and give careful consideration to any player with whom you are familiar and who you think deserving of the Mr. or Miss Basketball Award.

These votes are a nominating process only.  A selection committee that will include representatives from each area of the state will meet to vote on the finalists and winner of the Mr. and Miss Basketball Award for each classification.  You may submit the names of up to three players in each classification for the awards. It is not necessary to vote for three players in each category, but that is your option. And, please, consider the statewide aspect of this voting process.

This looks pretty accurate I would say.  Norl is a D1 kid who can flat out shoot it. Leron is a known name for sure.  And Sibley is probably the most talented in East TN AAA.

I haven't been able to watch Black play but see the numbers he puts up, so definately think he is one that needs to be in Murfreesboro.  I have seen Malik Pugh play and that kid is quick and talented and also on a very good team. 

 

Clark is a stud, saw him play a couple times during the fall and a game or two during season, he is a great player and is probably one of the best players in Tenn. without a doubt. 

 

Daniel Norl is the last player that I think should be invited to Mr. AAA basketball finialist.  I know more about him than the other players.  He is a Eastern Kentucky Signee, that has been a Varisty contributor even as a Freshmen.  He is avgeraging 21.5 points per game, has a shooting percentage of 42% from 3pt, 51% from the field, and has made over 190 three pointers in his career.  I know this award is based on yearly stats but just wanted to put some of those numbers out.  He has over 500 points this season alone.  Norl is also a McDonald's All-American Nominee. He is part of the winningest class in school history and has back to back regular season championships in a tough 10AAA.  Statistics are one factor that should go into this award but just some facts about him off the court.  Norl is a great kid, who has excellent grades, works hard, and if you talked to any coach who has played against him is the ultimate competitor but also shows excellent sportsmanship in both wins and losses.

 

Kenwood has a chance to do something special this season as a team, hoepfully they can make a good post season run, but even if that should not happen, still believe Norl should be invited as a finialist.
