fooseball96
I know this topic gets old. But I think when the tourney was in chatt, there was a better crowd and atmosphere. What do u guys think? I guess it depends on what part of the state your from.
WrestlingGod
The crowd, the arena, the atmosphere , there's no way to compare the two I think. But the central location I think is best for all parties. I think it'd be cool if we got it to Nashville at a venue like Bridgestone if the sport grew here like it is in chatt. I defenately don't mind sleeping in my own bed though.
mat73557
Got to keep it centrally located!
reftn
This is one occasion where Chattanooga is more expensive than Nashville. Given, the atmosphere is much better, but then it is always that way in a smaller versus larger venue.
GBR
Got to keep it centrally located! So sacrifice kids feeling like a champion and looking up at the fans stacked above them to wrestle on mats that are lumpy because there is dirt underneath them? I would drive to Memphis if that is what it took to have the atmosphere of McKenzie Arena. Unfortunately the rest of the state does not have the casual wrestling fans that the greater Chattanooga area has. I mean how could you expect anywhere but the area of the state with the most champions to have the most fans?
fooseball96
I agree GBR. I know the middle tennessee folks like where its at cuz its in their backyard but it is what it is
salterjd
I don't think the location will change. The real question is what do we need to do to encourage those "casual fans" from the east to support the sport and show up regardless of location!!!!
reftn
Well, lets see how many trips we made to Chattanooga over the years....... Sounds like Chatt just doesn't travel very well.

Sounds like Chatt just doesn't travel very well. reftn do you understand the term "casual fan" I am talking about the people with no connection to kids wrestling in the tournament but enjoy wrestling. I guess there are not very many of those where you are from. In chattanooga it is much more common. Your issue should be improving the support for wrestling in middle tennessee rather than worrying about how well chattanooga travels.

csemary
Chattanooga travels just fine....they wrestle even better. Truth is the venue won't change but improvements should be made to make this event feel like a championship event.
