Newestguy
Does anyone out there have a sample of the 12 man (16 man) bracket that will be used at this years State Tourney? One indicating where the region placers and byes will be placed. Edited February 9, 2014 by Newestguy
TDArtist
There are only two returning medalists that I can think of - Jon Boatman from Greeneville and Packy Mullin from Notre Dame. Every bracket will be a random draw other than returning medalists.
Chig
I was told region champs and region runner ups will be seperated on different sides of the bracket. The byes can go to any of the 12 wrestlers in the 16 man braket , regardless of placing in regions or being a returning medalist , blind draw. Returning medalists are treated as how they placed in there region. For those two wrestlers you listed they were region champs.Hopefully there will be a better understanding of it by Monday am for all of us in A-AA , but right now its not very clear. # going to state PF has 13 Hixson has 12 Greenville has 8 Red Bank has 7 Alcoa has 7 East Ridge has 6 Central has 5 fill in blanks for Region 3 A-AA Creekwood hopefully will post the info soon

Sommers
Shouldn't byes be automatically limited by team over the 14 weight classes in order to allow for equity in early round scoring?
Indian
How many per weight make it from each region?

StarRaider
How many per weight make it from each region? 4 wrestlers per region, 3 regions, 12 man bracket.
Indian
Good to read. One from here, Sequatchie is going in 120, first time for boys.
silverpie
Here's how we drew it up last year (I literally drew it on a napkin). Top quadrant: A1, B3, C3 Second quadrant: B2, C2, A4 Third quadrant: C1, A3, B4 Last quadrant: B1, A2, C4 Each region gets its letter randomly, except in the two classes with a returning medalist (whose region is automatically A). One wrestler per quadrant is randomly chosen to receive the bye.
