Last Top 100 middle school results- what's coming up...

Here is the 1st and 2nd place totals from the last Top 100 Middle School tourney. If all these Murfreesboro kids end up at Wilson Central then Cleveland and Wilson Central will be a battle for years to come. Also, I found it surprising that 7 Knoxville kids placed top 2 and the lack of Memphis kids. Granted. Not everyone was there as none of Hamiton county kids were here and I'm sure that a lot of Memphis kids weren't either. Be interesting to see how it shakes out at state once everyone is there and drops to their competition weight.

Aren't you the same guy who was complaining about weight cutting on the TN Youth Wrestling Facebook page? :o

Flying goat.. I wasn't really complaining about weight cutting per say... My thought is that for the regular season tournaments in AAU we should structure the rules so that it would highly restrict any cutting that happens during the season of the AAU youth and middle school season. I think that it will keep more kids in the sport and will help the techical development of our youth kids. We could easily eliminate cutting at our regular season AAU tournaments with same day weigh ins like they do in ga. But, this seems to be a real hot button issue that a lot of people took issue with and really attacked me personally over it for even suggesting it.

But, regardless there will be a lot of weight cutting at state so the results I posted will change dramatically.

It happens and I know it is part of the sport, but having a 5 foot 70 lbs. middle school kid is unhealthy. It will only hurt your kid in the long run when you are dodging competition by weight cutting. Better to grow into a weight class than to try and shrink into one at the youth level!

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
