Oak Ridge vs Blackman in the AAA final at 2:00 Saturday. 

 

Memphis teams have won 11 of the 12 state championships in AAA (since the incepetion of the T in 2001-02 season), but won't get a chance at a gold ball in 2014.  During the run, White Station won state 4 times, Ridgeway twice, and Hamilton, Melrose, Craigmont, East, and Southwind all once.  The lone absence was the Maryville championship in 2007.

 

The matchup with Blackman and Oak Ridge should be fairly even.  Both teams are well-coached, have athletes that crash the boards, and have multiple scoring options.  The difference may lie with #33 Merian of OR.  He made some tough, contested shots in the paint throughout the game and rebounded well.  I think Smithey said he had 20+ in the game.  Should be a good one.
