2014 1A and 2A Coaches Polls

It is great that Dresden has earned some respect throughout the state. I'm on the fence with this years lion's, looked good in spring ball but defense looked ify to me. Lots of talented young kids will have to grow up quick.

 

Like most, UC has to be odds on favorite to repeat. But anything could happen.

yeah, after six 7on7's with two being all day tourneys, then full scrimmages against Lake Co., Dyer Co & Paducah Tilghman in a 3way, & Murray, KY at exciting Jamboree, methinks by then the jelling process will be well under way, and the cream of crop O playmakers and Big D studs will be manifest through these battles vs quality teams. I LUVED that "battling of biggies" between both teams in our first scrimmage. At beginning of scrimmage the left half of field was for 7 on7, right was bigguns going at each other. YES! Maybe that should be a regular feature of all scrimmages. But turn it so crowd in stands can see next time instead of our view being blocked. HA!

^{We return 9 solid starters.  At least 5 solid backups will assume starter roles.  We've got 11 Seniors that have seen one semi-final and two trips to the state game, so there's no lack of experience.  We've got a better disciplined team, but lost a little in the backfield and on the line, although we have two potential all-state backs.  I think we'll have a better balanced attack than we've had in a few years.  We've got two receivers who have been waiting for their moment in the spotlight, a running back ready to carry the load, a quarterback ready to direct a potentially great offense, some experienced defensive backs, and some young guns ready to mix it up on the line.  I agree a tie with UC might be a little far-fetched, but we'll be in the mix.}

Wayne County gets back in the mix this year, I just hope everybody keeps overlooking them.

 

Since when is being put in a top 10 poll overlooking?  They are ahead of everything in there region but CA, who put them out of the playoffs and didn't really lose anyone.  can you explain how that is being 'overlooked?'

End result should be TC from the east and one of the sweater vests from the west, TC getting another gold ball.

well, It makes since really, even with WC state championship a few years ago our region hasn't really been that dominant when it comes to state contenders in a long long time.  Although, I am not sure why some of the other schools get so much credit when they havn't produced either.  Really, SP has been the only real consistent team.

I agree, sp and uc. Uc has won two in four years.
