I went ahead and made us a little website for this game.  I garuntee you if this Moore man cant beat this Cox man we will not win a game this year.  I was reading in my Murphy Fair book on the way home from that Martino mans field tonight that this Cox man went 0-10 last year and he has never qualified for the playoffs.  This Cox man will be at the very bottom of Murphys pole this week.  You think im joking but im not.

Roy has simply said what we all know is the truth.  If we can't beat Sale Creek we're doomed.  Well, I'm here to tell you we will vent a great deal of frustration against the Creek.  We may not have a squad that can beat 3A and 4A teams, but I guarantee we will roll against teams like Sale Creek, Lookout Valley, and Whitwell.  Sequatchie and Grundy are possibilities, and Jasper better be ready.

Good afternoon gentlemen.  Looking forward to coming over to South Pittsburg this Friday.  When we launched our program, we told our players that they didn't have to look any further than right in our region to see what small school football can be when the school, players, and community are behind it 100%.  Hopefully one of these years we'll get a stadium built here in Sale Creek, and hopefully our community will get behind us the way that ya'll do.  Finley Stadium is nice, but its a long drive for a "Home" game.

We're better than last year, though so far the scoreboard doesn't show it.  Last year it was hard to just get the kids lined up where they were supposed to be, let alone do what they were supposed to do.  This year, we're getting lined up right, and for the most part we know what we're supposed to do, but its the actually doing it that is hit or miss.  We're still young.  Last year our kids football knowledge was about middle school level.  This year, we're probably playing at Freshman / JV level.

Met Coach Moore last fall.  He's definitely a class act.

Before we come play you guys though, we have to take Red Boiling Springs tonight at Finley.  (Had to play on Saturday because UTC women's soccer played last night.)   If you're bored and want to get wet, come on over and watch.  Game time 7:30.

SC OC

PS:  user name is a little misleading, but I played for Soddy Daisy back in the 80s, and still cheer for them even though I'm at SC.

Let me ask you a question.  Does that Cox man have any real fast boys?  What does your fastest boy run the 50 yard dash in?  When you come down to that Moore mans field on Friday I will bring you a red bull fudge round and show you my Murphy Fair book.  This Moore man is sliding down to the bottom of Murphys pole with 2 losses.  I garuntee you our boys are not going to get to play a playoff game at that Moore mans field if they lose some more games.  You think im joking but im not.

We better be able to easily handle the teams you mentioned. One good thing we have going for us this year is the east in 1A is overall very weak this season. That should help come playoff time.

I got to watch that replay on tv today. I guess I have to depend on that Goforth man because that Jackson man and Dunwoody man are to lazy to put it on charter. That Goforth man is a better announcer than that Jackson man and Dunwoody man. That Moore man should pay him more money than he does that Jackson man and Dunwoody man and get him to do play by play for our boys. You think im joking but im not.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
