I think this game will be competitive because Hammontree is a good coach. But IMO WB is going to really have to crap the bed to lose this one.

Where in the world are you getting this confidence from? What has WB done this year to garner the confidence you have in them besides beat themselves in every game? I mean their is no way the teams they have played so far were just better than them.

And this coming from a guy who always harped on a coach who took his team to state. Lol if your coach was coaching your QB to throw into double or triple coverage when there are other wide open receivers you would be singing my tune.

Yeah I am sure he is coaching him to do that. Get real, Gov. What sane coach would do that? Their comes a point when you have to blame the players for making dumb decisions and just not being that good.

You can think i'm crazy all you want SS lol. But the facts are facts. Another interesting fact is our best option at RB has not gotten a single carry this year. The guy had two rushing touchdowns in one game last year. This year we have been using like 3 different RBs and none of them have scored a single rushing td. And i'm pretty sure we have yet to have 100 yards total rushing in a game. Now tell me SS.... Does that make any kind of sense? If you were a coach wouldn't you give the guy who had two td runs in a game last year carries if your current RBs aren't delivering, i will hang up and listen. :popcorneater:

91....you should have lost all credibility on this board when you said Brint Russell was a good coach.  If Coach Hammontree would have been the coach in 09 Heritage wins by a lot and they would have run the table on William Blount the last five years.  If Coach Hammontree would have been coaching in 09 that Division 1 athlete would have been the running back from the start.  Just looking at your posts......you dont know much!

What I would do is teach my O line to block

He was better than what WB has had.... I know that much. I never said the man was on Hammontree's level but he did coach ya'll to a 4-6 record and he eventually figured out that ya'lls superstar should be carrying the ball! Don't tell me I don't know much about that team or that staff, I attended practices that year. The fact was ya'll didn't have any other good athletes. Cermak looked like a man amongst boys out there. From where I was standing it looked like Russell was doing alot with very little. I'm not debating that Hammontree prolly would have done better. But if you honestly think russell was a terrible coach you are the one who doesn't know much.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
