Govs you may know a lot about your WB program, but you don't have a clue what you're talking about. You know absolutely nothing about the heritage program. I've been playing or watching heritage for the last 20 some years and I'll fill you in. First off, Russell was a terrible coach. He has destroyed every program he's been a head coach at. He ran off two very good coaches; one is the head coach at greenback, and the other is coaching at maryville now. The year he went 4-6, heritage moved to a new district, and had the easiest schedule in school history. They beat very bad karns, south Doyle, and lenior city teams. They also upset one of the worse catholic teams in the last 15 years. In their first three seasons, Russell and Rewis had identical records. Rewis went 2-8, 4-6, and 2-8 Russell went 4-6, 3-7, and 1-9.

I want what you are smoking. That catholic team had a winning record and only lost by a td to maryville. If you knew anything about our district you would know that it was absolutely stacked that year.

And they got smoked by everyone else in the district. Russell only won 2 district games at heritage. His record was the same as Rewis. And Scott meadows did such a great job at catholic that he was able to take a HUGE pay raise to go coach at piegon forge.

Meadows got canned by Catholic for having 2 bad years. The only reason they had bad years is they were starting freshmen and sophomores his last 2 years there. And it's next to impossible to win in this district starting freshmen and sophomores. This is the second toughest district in the state behind 7AAA in middle tennessee.

91....Catholic was 5-5 in 09.  Heritage had their easiest shedule in school history in 09.  In 08 they were in a district with Oak Ridge, Soddy, Ooltewah, Bradley, McMinn, and so on.  91 you need to get your facts right.  Nobody on here should respect you..  If you attended Heritage practices back in the day then means you were trying to coach... Sorry you didnt make it on any staffs... I guess thats why your such a mainstay on Coach T!

But the district was stacked that year! And if you think that district was tougher you are crazy. And that 4-6 record in 2005 was against teams that were 1-9 and 3-7. So you tell me which is better,, 1-9 or 5-5? And no I wasn't trying to be a coach you wizeazz. My brother was doing physical therapy clinicals for college and he was assigned to work with Heritage's team that year. So I tagged along to alot of the practices and work-outs.

And 91......Since your such a Blount County and William Blount football follower... You never answered my question about the 4 horseman of William Blount in 1998! Tell us....What happened when they played Maryville and Coach Tim Hammontree!! I think they got cocky and got hit in the mouth!!

I was living in GA during that period of time, so I don't know and don't really care. Lol that's been about 16 years ago. Almost as long as it has been since heritage last beat WB.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
