We gotta build depth that's one of my concerns is defense and depth

I agree about depth but I think the defense did pretty good in that scrimmage all things considered. We forced Ooltewah to a 3 and out on their first series and forced them to punt a few other times. Our defense last year would not have been able to stop this Ooltewah team a single time.

The story of the scrimmage was our O-line being totally outclassed by their defense. As soon as the ball was snapped the entire Ooltewah defense was in the backfield. Our O-line wasn't providing any protection, period! Despite that we still moved the ball on a few series and got some first downs. Our skill players were earning every single yard in that scrimmage. Our Runningbacks were having to break tackles at the line or behind the line of scrimmage on just about every carry. And we were only able to get short passes and screens off because we simply did not have time to get guys open downfield. If the O-line steps up we will be fine.

We may not have the size we have had in recent years. But is that really a bad thing? Did we win games with size? I would much rather have smaller guys that play hard every play than a bunch of bigger guys that look like Tarzan but play like Jane. As far as coaching goes the Govs are in better hands than they have ever been in before. Shad and the staff will make sure that this team is getting better every week.
