Germantown High School is now looking for a New Head Football Coach after Charlie White has stepped down to pursue other coaching opportunities. Germantown is one of if not the top Public school football job in Shelby County. I am sure there will be huge interest in this opening. Through out some names that could be realistic possibilities.

So, do you think that he has stepped down to take the St. Benedict job?

 

Who are you talking about? ... Oh I get it, you're talking about coach White.

 

I don't have a clue about that. I know that Germantown hasn't been competitive as it relates to play-off runs in quite a while. They didn't make the play-offs this year, and that hasn't happened at Germantown in a long time. I have no clue as to the motivaton of his resignation. I'm not close enough to the program to even fathom a guess as to why.

Rutherford is an excellent coach. He is currently on Major Wright's first year staff at Raliegh Egypt High School. Wouldn't be surprised if Major Wright isn't a possibility thus leaving RE open for Devin Rutherford. There are going to plenty of applicants for the Germantown job. It's a sleeping giant in Shelby County.

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
