HEY HILLSBORO, I'M PASSIVE DA' OWL AGGRESSIVE....WAS LOOKING FORWARD TO FACING A WEST TENNESSEE TEAM BUT MY OWLS LAID AN EGG TO ANOTHER UNDEFEATED TEAM IN A WEAK DISTRICT THAT RUNS THE WING T.....BUT THEY BEAT US AND WE ARE SMELLING THE AROMA OF MOTHBALLS....WE STILL HAVE 2 UNDEFEATED TEAMS ON THIS SIDE...OAK RIDGE AND SOUTH DOYLE IN WHICH THEY SAY WILL BE ELIMINATED BY KNOXVILLE WEST ON FRIDAY...OAK RIDGE PLAYS RHEA COUNTY.. THE TEAM THAT ELIMINATED MY OWLS...BUT I THINK OAK RIDGE HAS THE TALENT TO WIN THAT GAME....

SO DO YOU GUYS THINK THAT YOU CAN HANG WITH EAST TENNESSEE??IMO THE EAST HAS MORE OF A CUPCAKE SCHEDULE AND STAY PRETTY HEALTHY WHEREAS WEST TENNESSEE BATTLE TOUGHER TEAMS EACH WEEK..AND MIDDLE TENNESSEE HAS A TOUGHER  SCHEDULE TO DEAL WITH ALSO IMO....NOW THOSE TEAMS IN MEMPHIS AND SURROUNDING AREAS DID NOT HAVE AN UNDEFEATED TEAM IN THE 5A PLAYOFFS WHICH TELLS ME THERE IS NOT AS MANY CUPCAKES....RIDGEWAY SEEMS TO BE THE FAVORITE IN THAT AREA...HOW WELL DO YOU COMPARE TO THEM??

Hillsboro hasn't played this type of offense all year. Shelbyville has an excellent passing game and I don't think the Burrows have seen one like it.

I am new to the Tennessee High School football scene, but looking at the numbers and seeing both teams highlights, what is it about Shelbyville's offense that make you strongly believe they are capable of putting up 50 pts? I could understand 12 to 18, but 50?

They average about 35 points per game. They have a great quarterback and one of the best tailbacks in the state. No question they can put up a bunch of points...they have been doing that all year. I'm not sure if they can stop Hillsboro though...it could absolutely be a shootout. This is a very good Shelbyville team, but Hillsboro is tremendous of course.

Well... Shelbyville scores nearly 40 points a game and about half of those they turned the ball over multiple times while driving. If Shelbyville has a clean game with no turnovers and forces a few from Hillsboro, the Golden Eagles will be victorious in this one.

Ok since u danced around the previous question, I will try this angle. ..what is it about Hillsboro defense or lack of defense (as you are putting it)that makes you believe Shelbyville will put up 50, when they have been averaging 35 pts?

While I think Hillsboro will win- I also think their defense will be tested by Shelbyville.

Really????  I'm trying to figure out who's going to test Phillips and the rest of the wrecking crew on defense?  While Shelbyville's QB and RB are slightly better than average football players, I don't see a collection of standout athletes compared to Hillsboro.  I personally think Phillips is good enough to take away the read, thus freeing up himself and a LB.

Phillips is great and their defense has been good all year.  But you also have to look at the teams they played.  Hunters Lane, Hillwood, Antioch, Glencliff, Cane Ridge.  Not really world beaters.  Kenwood and Springfield not overwhelming on offense either.  I'm just saying that Shelbyville is probably the best team they've played this year so far.... it is the 3rd round of the playoffs.

Shelbyville had the third best tailback on the field last Friday when they played Beech. Edited by tandem

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
