You might have no use for private schools but TSSAA sure does. First and fore most, private school football raises the overall quality of football in the state and the respect level on the national scene. Just this week, Wade Gossett from the Chattanooga paper, wrote that the large private school division was the 7th toughest conference in the country per a national publication. Second, TSSAA wants the money the receive from privates. Third, TSSAA does not want to enter a arms race with private schools. If there is a split, the privates will throw more money and more power around to attract the best referees, players, coaches, and build the best facilities. Colleges would treat the public division like a second tier level when it comes to recruiting.

If it were that profitable then why don't they leave. If the rich privates don't need the money, then they can afford to pay the travel expense and play all over the state. Take this opportunity to get out of this bad situation. Call if you need help packing.

same was said in Georgia before the split, and publics are stronger than evere there. Some teams going 5-5 with 4 of the 5 loses being to privates are now going 9-1. Those schools now build their own tradition, better facilites and keep most of their kids. Yea, 5-5 team kids might want to jump to private. But 9-1, no reason to when you figure in the cost to attend.

Travel couldn't be any worse then it is now. We have two hour drives to district games.

I say to the TSSAA, "Let our people go!" We all know it is just about money to the TSSAA, so all you publics need to start doubling up your TSSAA checks and let them know you can handle the increased costs.

you don't have to kick out the privates to put them into divisions only with other privates. They could still be in the TSSAA. Typical private reponse is that if you don't keep us where we have the advantage, we will take are ball and go home. Tennessee is built on public school football, not likely that will ever change. Hasn't in any other state. They co-exist.

Years back Brentwood Academy fought all the way to the supreme court to stay in the public division. Why? You say that it ain't money. You also seem to think that all the good teams aand compitition is privates only. Ya'll get together and just leave and create a legue of your own governing body. Seems to me that if you agree to split together then nothing can be done by the TSSAA.

Tony Lambert the Coach @ Oneida sums all this up.He went off on how he hates the Private Schools. They cheat they recruit.Ok.I asked him then about when he was @ Anderson.Co & he got the good players from Campbell.Co & others to play for him. That is not recruiting?????? He shut up & left then.Sevier.Co transfers to CAK.Cheaters,illegal.Each year poor Treyvon grandma dyin happens to live in Alcoa so he transfers from AE,South Doyle,Jeff.Co,Powell,William Blount.Totally legal.I remember when CAK & Grace started football. They got clocked by some of the worst teams.Got laughed at & don't belong playing football. Now they start winning & they are cheaters.Private schools aren't perfect but at least god is allowed there & those asinine test aren't.Also what will happen when a Oneida or someone else wins Public Championship & says oh we could easily beat the Private champs.Piss off crybabies

I agree. I think the privates should jump at the chance to get out from under the public's thumb and tyrannical rule. The public gates are usually pathetic. Developing rivalries with the other privates would be a huge win- win. The privates could even negotiate their own TV deals.

Hey Jack!!!!......lets take a look at that plan you have to protect our best interest

....we are for the most part already out from under the public's thumb and tyrannical rule ......you did notice Booger tyrannical rule????....those are 2 of the reasons Booger forks over the cash and put his kids in that private school in the first place.....as far as the rivalries go; Booger kinda thinks we are winning big on that one at the moment........thanks to most of the public's soured attitude towards us privates, we got a rivalry every week......heck; they were even good rivalries to the PUBS all those years even when they were beating ND down into the earth every week; most took extreme joy in the accomplishment of beating a private school for some reason......Booger gotta a better one for you; we got rivalries with fans of public schools we have never played; how do we improve on that..

.....also as far as that TV deal; you need to change the "could" from pretense to present "have" ....Thanks for all you do WRCB  :thumb:

Booger just sayin

Yeah; but Marion County kinda made them rethink that one

We've been beating the rich kids schools it seems like forever. This problem only seems to come up in the lower divisions of the publics only. Besides cath-o-lick in 4A I don't see a private school competing for championships on a regular basis in 4A to 6A.Same could be said about 3A too.Until these privates can make it and win it all in the the public division, they can't say they are the best. With that being said,Get out and stay out!

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
