Owls didn't have much of a choice or a say in the matter. The outcome was never in question from the kickoff. Complete domination. Ooltewah had a really good team last year and should have this year as well, however in that game their inability to run the football plus the bitter cold really put a clamp on their offense. Rhea's coaches knew the Owls wouldn't be able to run the ball on them so they loaded up and went after the QB and it paid off. As far as the defense, Passive just overhyped a decent unit that had a solid year. Rhea used the Owls speed and lack of discipline against them and had them confused the whole game. It was over before it started Ooltewah got out coached and PA knows it. But like Passive said earlier that was last year and that's all there is to say about that game. It's time to focus on this year and Rhea will defiantly be a contender in the region and at this point that's all that really matters.

Pretty solid assessment. Personally, I am excited for our region this year. Big time match ups with talented teams and coaches.

Just to clarify in the earlier post when I said "lack of discipline" I was referring to assignment football and was not suggesting anything about the off the field character of any players, coaches or programs. I can remember when the Owls truly were "doormats" and all jabs with Passive aside, I have great respect for what Ooltewah has accomplished and been able to maintain even with the pull of East Hamilton and several coaching changes. That says a lot about the Owl community and administration and their dedication to football. It takes support from both to put together a first rate program and that's what Ooltewah has accomplished. Myself, I am excited to be playing our old rivals again and it should be a very competitive region especially in the next few years.

Good deal. I didn't think you were, I just wanted to clarify what I said earlier and make sure I hadn't opened a window for someone else to go in that direction. Sometimes things like that get out of control on here and it gets ugly even if something is taken out of context. You have been on these boards a while tis, you've seen what I am talking about.

RCfan...is Cook taking a bigger role in the defense this year?  I was real happy he got to go back home.  Hes a great guy and a real energetic coach.  I see Rhea being relevant for quite a while.  Great staff and good community support.

Coach Pemberton and his staff took over the county middle school programs last season to help get the kids and coaches in the same program and on the same page. So several of the staff are involved in both places that way by the time these kids are at the high school they know the system and the coaches and the coaches know the kids. Coach Cook was head coach at Spring City last season so a lot of his focus was there but I am not sure where he will be this year. I was told the original plan was to rotate these coaches through out the system but I don't know if thats still the case. Coach Cook is an excellent coach and the kids love him, he was a nice addition to the staff last year.

Takes a pretty big man to take shots at kids on an anonymous board. Every team has kids that need help and hallways with issues.
