District is absolutely wide open. Central with 2 huge wins in the last week. Livingston playing much better. Macon beat smith by about 15 tonight after looking awful last week. Fun to watch every night!

What a night for sure. Standings should look like this:

1 - Smith County (5-2)

1 - York (5-2)

1 - LA (5-2)

4 - Upperman (4-3)

4 - Macon County (4-3)

4 - Central (4-3)

7 - DeKalb County (1-6)

8 - Cannon County (0-7)

 

Tie breakers will be interesting. It is going to be tough for any team to distance themselves from the rest of the pack. The 1st place team gets a bye in the district tournament this year, that will be huge!

How can you have a bye with 8 teams. It should be

1vs8

2vs7

3vs6

4vs5 no way to have a bye for the number 1 team.

Is that really what their doing because that's crazy the 1 with the bye now has it harder than the 2

1 is only team who gets automatic region berth. How does 1 have it worse than 2? I agree though, crazy....

Ref83...why harder? They would have 1 less game to play than the #2.

That would give #2 another game to have to play.

If this is the case, it's actually a huge advantage to be the 1 seed because you would be guaranteed a region berth without even having to play a game. Semi finals would still likely be the 1vs4 so really the bye is the only change. No disadvantage at all!

The disadvantage is you are now playing a solid 4or 5 seed that has already played a game on a neutral court and you are playing for the first time on the neutral court. I had rather have the game against the 8 seed than play my first game in the semifinals.
