CAK @ DCA

I formation for 30 years. Both tailbacks are amongst the best in Div II A. The skill players (1,4,6,13 and 18) are good HS players. Both lines have little depth but there are some good players. QB is first year started but he's 6'4" and can spin it well at times. He had 200 yards at half against Kings and will not be afraid to go after 1 v 1 coverage on the outside with 13 or 4. Lots of motion with 18 creates some issues with similarly skilled teams.

The overall the line is small with 190 C, 210 G and 205 T but the other two OL are 6'3 335 and 6'2" 235 (soph with speed and tons of potential). LB's aren't big but run to the ball and theres more secondary depth than anywhere else.

Kicking has been up and down.

I really like the heart of this group. With 6 turnovers against FRA they could have mailed it in but they've worked very hard to get better. Losing a QB to station camp along with several linemen for various reasons this was projected to be a very deep and talented team. However, things happen and this group will now make it 24 straight years to the playoffs (2nd longest streak in the state). Maybe we can talk to other private schools and see what their magic secret is in getting additional excellent student athletes? It sure would be nice to have a "pipeline" as the uninformed have suggested.

Regardless, this game is one that CAK is a huge huge huge favorite and rightfully so.

It sounds like that while DCA is still building their program, you have some very nice athletes! I am looking forward to seeing them, and getting to see a new venue. It is good that these 2 teams get a chance to meet.

they are proof that not all schools that field scholarship athletes are at an advantage....the PUB school whiners who are constantly flushin their tear ducts want this school on their schedule so they can beat their chest....DCA only beat Howard by 14

there are other schools for you to worry about; this ant one of them...the schedule lets your JV dirty their uniform again

Booger just sayin

Booger stick to soccer. Comparative scores don't come close to telling the Howard game. I'm sure your ND coaches saw the file. Howard was never in that game and DCA was as vanilla as they could be. In fact Howard had 30 yards total offense the entire game. Edited by Playerscoach

Kinda in a downward trend due to numbers and transfers these next few years.

The program itself has won multiple state championships, had alums play in the SEC and ACC as well as the NFL. Not bad for a school with a little over 200 kids 9-12. :)

Like I said though you guys are projected by many to win this going away. As much as I love the Cats I won't be shocked to see a running clock in the 2nd half.

Booger stuck on soccer alright; gasoline bill says so.......but If Booger goes back to the soccer forum; then you have no grandstand to boast there either ......just because you will tell us all on T how you know all the players, the coaches, the parents and all their cousins uncles, great grandparents nephews does not mean DCA is close, or wins this game because you say so........be patient and wait til late friday night......if Booger needs help getting his foot into his mouth after this game; no doubt you will help gettin it in there.....DCA is a nice little program and has done well; but as Booger said...., DCA only beat Howard 14-0...

ND's coaches deal in Film and Stats PC; not files.......this ant NCIS......who needs to stick with soccer?

So you chase me here to post that? Cmon fella you're better than that. This was a civil discussion about two teams you have no connection to. Yet you somehow felt the need to take a jab?

Makes you look kinda petty and small.

If you don't like the fact I'm connected to coaches in middle TN then don't read my posts.

Lastly, where did I say this game would be close? I've said multiple times that I didn't think it would be so why make up stuff?

as far as that connection thing of Boogers; just because Booger dont tell everyone about those connections doesnt mean Booger dont have em......if you feel Booger on that one....

Howard was in the DCA game....14 points ant necessarily close to winning, but it sure ant far from losing.....DCA has another good year; but it ant part of Friday against CAK.....

Booger is small and he is pretty; thank you for the compliment.......but chasin dont happen

What year did you guys make the switch to D2, and do you feel like that move helped you, hurt you, or was not a major factor either way in how your program has evolved? Living in E TN, I have limited experience with D2 programs; mainly Webb. What I have observed with Webb is that while they are a small school, and only field a team with about 40 players, they have very well coached teams, and a mixture of traditional private school type student athletes, mixed in with a handful of scholarship athletes. In small school football, having a handful of really outstanding scholarship players can make all the difference. What factors have you seen in that either helping or hurting DCA? Or is there just too much competition for D2 scholarship athletes in your area? I am surprised to hear of numbers of players in the 20's.

You got in a thread and made personal attacks and took jabs at DCA? That's chasin bub.

Not to worry though because I'm not going to reciprocate. Like I said it's odd to me that you feel the need to do it though?

I imagine if I ever get to meet you at a ballgame you'll stop with the insults and just be as pleasant as a flower. The insults tend to stop when folks aren't behind keyboards. 😀

Good luck to ND.

We moved to D2 several years ago. Since then we've maintained being competitive in most sports and won a boys title in basketball and lost in the final in girls basketball.

Honestly the move was the only option because with an average of 40 football players the multiplier was too difficult to overcome.

Other schools in our area get many more kids in for sports. Davidson, Ezell and most of all Friendship are getting students athletes in at a much higher rate than DCA.

Safe travels and let anyone know if you need anything. Ill be there early helping out and participating in our halftime festivities in a suit. Lol

Excited to make our first trip to DCA. I always enjoy seeing different venues for the first time! Hope the weather is not too warm for the suit lol!

re·cip·ro·cate

rəˈsiprəˌkÄt/

verb

1.

respond to (a gesture or action) by making a corresponding one.

"the favor was reciprocated"

synonyms: do the same (in return), respond in kind, return the favor

"I was happy to reciprocate"

Corresponding would for me to have made personal attacks against you and slights against ND. Which I did neither.

Take care my beautiful flower. ðŸ˜

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
