Past game play suggest that if all teams were at their best these games, then Fayetteville should have the edge in this matchup and beat Moore Co. by a couple touchdowns.

The ace in the hole that speaks to me in deciding this is the FRA games both CA and F-ville lost in... Both played FRA close enough to say Fayetteville is the better team for this matchup.

Region should look like 1)CA 2)F-ville 3) Moore Co. after Friday night for one week....

A couple = 2.... 😉

Who says you can't judge by past games?

At least a little.😎

True... It seems your Tigers do start late.

Fhs 14-0. Final

First quarter was definitely the Moore county run show. Steady dose of run left run right run middle by the RB henshaw or kershaw or Bradshaw (not sure of name). Freshman QB would run it also. Had decent success. MC drove tho opening possession down field only to give it up to FHS. Tiger defense played out of their heads. Bending all night but not breaking, and coming up with crucial stops just when it looked like MC was going to put it in for a score. Seemed like every time MC would get a play and move downfield, they would fumble or go for it on fourth down and turn the ball over to the tiger offense. Mc could move the ball, almost at will, grinding out four and Five yd gains, with a couple of ten to twelve Yarders mixed in. FHS did everything to give MC the game, at least give them the first half. We have been starting slow all year, this was no different. Tied 0-0 at the end of the first it was a battle of heavyweights trading blow for blow. FHS tried to strike first with a 30ish yard field goal attempt. Sloppy conditions for three qtrs with a light drizzle coming down and a gusty wind. Field goal was wide and low, snaps for both teams were sketchy all night. It kept on into the second still tied at nil nil. Neither team able to break the deadlock. Each team trying hard playing all out. Still perplexed at MC several attempts on fourth down in crazy field position. Don't trust the kicker? Not sure. Their kicker did have a bad night, punter also. Special teams for MC made several mistakes that cost them field position and the ball. It was big plays in the third qtr that finally decided the game. MC started first possession of second half with surprise pass completion. First one of the night for 12-15-20 something yds. FHS countered late with a 53ish yd to pass. Great effort by WR to catch and get y.a.c to run into end zone. Game was relatively clean, few penalties on both. A couple of pass interference calls on tiger defenders helped MC, and one incomplete pass call still has me shaking my head. Tiger receiver caught the ball, ran for three, four yards right on the sideline. MC defender good job to hit receiver and force out of bounds, ball goes out of bounds. Play was called incomplete pass by ref! Crazy. MC's RB and QB played well. Couple of wide open WRs for Moore dropped easy balls. Wet ball? Rain? Nerves? Not sure. FHS offense couldn't get steamrolling. Halfway through the fourth you could feel the momentum shifting to Fayetteville. Mc stupid personal foul for a late hit didn't help. In the end, #2 McWilliams sealed the game, getting a TD with a fifteen yd run through mc'is defensive line. This one was epic. One to talk about for a while.

Good write up... #2 gave mTp headaches all night. He's a good back right along with his dynamic double deuce coupe #22.

But no doubt both are game changing type players.

Dang Big! You must be a hammer 'cause you hit it on the head. Those poor little fellers back in the Holler must be so upset. Dreams of glory and post season play fade away in their minds like yesterday's school lesson with each passing Friday. Reality came crashing down on their heads when CA pulled down their drawers and spanked them silly. Coming into a realigned region, expecting to stomp over all these new, upstart football programs, surely the Baby Blue could bring back the glory days of history.

We (FHS, S'town, & GCA) don't have a history, we're making it as we go. You could argue, what has more value; kicking a first year program's butt or losing by a red hair? I would say a win is a win, and a loss is a loss, but to win big like you are supposed/expected to, has less of a value than fighting and scratching to the bitter end, losing it and leaving all on the field. Learning from that loss, and using what you learned--what worked vs what didn't against a "superior" team, against your next opponent.

Now, keep in mind, these are 15, 16, 17, maybe a couple of 18 year old boys going out there. We want them to shake off last week's disappointments, homecoming distractions, girlfriend issues. Whatever is running through their minds, we want all of that to be put aside and focus on play execution, timing, balance, confidence in personal ability, game plan, and muscle memory. Put all those things together and you have a team at their best. Put all those things as a primary focus for the eleven who happen to be out there on the field, and you have a winning combination.

I would say that MC followed the status quo of what was expected, that is, they weren't expected to do anything up against CA, and they didn't. They were expected to smoke GCA and S'town, so they did. They're not expected to do anything this Friday, so they won't. You ever watch the Matrix movies? Cause and Effect. Then MC has an open date, then on the road @ Huntland and @ Richland, then the western Tigers of Mt. Pleasant come calling. I don't expect that MC will have anything left in the tank after they visit the Tiger Den on Friday, no matter what region standings are up for grabs. The stars are aligned for the upstarts, and the sun is setting on the old Raiders.

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
