Collinwood wins big

Have you read up on this Cville bunch? They're pretty good this year and put up 40 something points in their win last week. I know the team they played probably wasn't very good but the team Cwood played wasn't either. Good luck and I hope y'all pull it out but that's a pretty bold prediction

I feel the same way Wildcat. I have no idea how good or bad Shoals Christian is but they ran the ball 36 times and only got 64 yards. I believe they were 8 of 11 passing for 92 yds with a TD. Maybe Collinwood's rushing Defense is that good, who knows.

Shoals is a small private school in Alabama and not very good

I wouldnt call Shoals and outstanding team but they were pretty comparable to the average region 6 team if  not better.  They were extremely well coached (a new head coach) with some really clever offensive plays.  I would say they had decent athletes but their depth was their downfall as Collinwoods big line and ground pound offense wore them out by fourth quarter.  Collinwood is MUCH improved defensively against the run.  Their secondary has a ways to go

as several Shoals receivers broke totally free. They are good with the

blitz and qb pressures tho

Its hard to tell from one game but I could see a lot more maturity and stamina from the trojans as compared to last year.  They have several talented backs and plenty of big linemen.  They  have a freshman back Ransom who is gonna be the real deal.  I would say he is similar to Marco Dailey...not kidding....a real breakaway threat all day long...just a freshman tho, give him a few more games to get  his bearing

I predict  that the trojans will contend for playoffs and be a fixture in 2017 and 2018.  Blake Thompson at 6 3   335 is a for real run stopper and

gets a lot of pressure on pass plays too.

Very few seniors tho but at least they have a nice group of juniors to

help the underclassmen like Thompson, Ransom, and Tidwell

things are def looking up in the wood...to much talent to stay down much

longer

    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
