District tournament starts Friday.  I think these are the first round match ups.

 

(1) Morristown East vs (8) Cocke County - ME swept regular season series

(2) Sevier County vs (7) South Doyle - SC swept regular season series

(3) Seymour vs (6) Jefferson County - split regular season series

(4) Morristown West vs (5) Cherokee - split regular season series

Couldn't figure out who had the tiebreaker between JC and Cherokee. We will play whoever has the upper hand there.

Both were swept by ME and both split with SC and Seymour but Cherokee also split with MW where JC got swept.

 

I think MW gets the 4 spot based on their win over ME today.

We play Cherokee tomorrow at 8. It'll be tough.

All of the matchups are tough with the exception of 1 vs 8.

West blew a 4-0 lead to Cherokee on opening night and lost 7-4 and then today we just barely beat a Cocke County team that won 5 games all year. With as many mistakes as we've made on defense, getting past Monday would be an accomplishment. Go Trojans!

Jeff County gave up 3 runs to Seymour in the 1st inning Friday night then shut them out the rest of the game.  Unfortunately, it was too big of a hole for us to climb out of and we lost 3-2.  We beat South Doyle 11-1 in 6 innings yesterday to earn a rematch with Seymour on Monday.

West eliminates Cherokee with 18-8 win. Ill take it. West has to beat East twice to survive. Not sure about this one, but Go Trojans!

Jeff County won 7-3.  They have to beat Sevier County twice to advance to the District Championship tomorrow night.

Our guys gave Morristown East a battle, but the Hurricanes won 8-7 in extras. Tough way to end the season, but we did good to make it as far as we did.

 

East will play Sevier County for the district championship. I saw that Sevier County had to play 2 games against Jefferson County. I wonder if playing 2 games will have any effect on the Bears tomorrow

Jeff County scored 4 runs in the top of the 6th inning last night to force extra innings and then scored 2 more in the top of the 9th to take a 6-4 win in Game 1.  In Game 2, Sevier County jumped on us from the start and scoring 4 runs in the 1st and another run in the 2nd and won 5-0.
