The reason you put those guys in is to try to score some points and come away with something positive for the offense to build on the following week. It's not about winning the game or making the score look better at that point. It's about getting that first touchdown and getting over the hump. The QB is a sophomore and getting that 1st TD is important not only to his confidence but to the rest of the offense's confidence in him. While they didn't get the points it would have been a bad call to not have used the live game situation to try and improve your offense

That was my point. We don't have a lot of depth and are relying heavily on those three players. 16 was slow getting up on a few of the plays at the end of the game.
