2017/2018 - Will Greeneville and Elizabethton wind up in same region?

I'd love to see the Devils and the Cyclones play every year. I've always enjoyed the atmosphere of high school football and these two teams have some of the best you could ask for. Incredible, passionate fans and nice facilities to watch a game. Would be nice to see.

I see the conference as being thus:

 

Elizabethton

Greeneville 

South

East

Central

Unicoi?

 

I think number wise it could be that.  If Volunteer and Cherokee are thrown into the mix, I don't know what to tell you.  I think with the new conferences they will go back to five teams being picked up so teams can get bigger gates or shorter travel.  Number wise I think I am close, but Unicoi County had two big closures with jobs, so we could see their numbers dropping to where the TSSAA needs another option.

For 4A teams, if they had an option to move up it may not be a horrible one in our region.

 

Tennessee High, Crockett, Boone, ..... that could be where you see Volunteer and Cherokee.  Round it out with one team moving up and.... that is weak conference.  For the teams in the same region as Greeneville and Elizabethon, I would rather play any of those five vs. Elizabethon and Greeneville.  Just saying.

Online it's showing their enrollment at 836. Is that pretty accurate? If so, I think that's well above the 3A/4A divider.

That sounds about right.

796 was what Elizabethton turned in for their enrollment to the tssaa. Greeneville has 916.

That's pretty big gap, I've heard Elizabethton is going to play up regardless of where they fall though.
