Macon 87-63 over Upperman. Up by double digits the whole way.

Gotta love hyperquick's "Macon County weak as water prediction." I guess that was said just to try an undermine Clay County's 2 wins vs MC. They're clearly the best team in 8AA this year. It doesn't take someone "who has reffed all across the country" to see that ;).

Congrats.

I will say this I have seen MC play 8 times in the last 3 seasons and never seen anything like I saw tonight. I would say they made between 18 and 20 3 pointers from as far back as 6' behind the arc. Two buzzer beater 3's and as a team shot well over 60% from the floor. I spoke with two MC parents after the game and both said they have never seen them play this well. My hat's off to MC they shot the lights out of it tonight.

I hope they make it to the State Tourney & I wish them nothing but the best. Maybe I was wrong & Macon will win the entire thing, maybe they will be the First Boys Team from 8AA to Ever Win the State, I hope so, but just because you win a District game doesn't mean you are good & that goes for every region in every state. I have seen teams that were undefeated & sorry. Time will tell. Best of luck to All

48-47?.

Yes I would say that is very weak. I have seen these teams play, Uppermans is very vulnerable at the Guards position, but I would bet they will beat Macon by 20 or more next game, 48-47?, Who in the Grand Scheme of things thinks you will survive playing like that when the competition tightens up? You better hope that your region is really bad in order to get to Sub-State. That being said, best of Luck to you and your team the rest of the way

Good call. Rumor has it MC's shot chart from last night raised the global temperature by 10 degrees. It was never even a game. 48 points may not win every game, but 87 will produce the beatdown you witnessed last night. Why does Endicott not score every other possession? I feel like he should try and take over more. Edited by PrinceOfHillsdale633

I saw the first game at UHS. Wow what a difference MC shot the lights out. I wonder myself why UHS doesn't go to Endicott more. When they went to him he scored. I bet he didn't shoot 10-12 times last night. Way to much dribbling and turnovers because of it. No matter the way MC played last night not sure any area team could have beat them.

So...

Macon killed Upperman

Dekalb beat Smith by 26. I don't even know what to think anymore

Livingston beat York. This now puts York below Livingston in district seeding, no more tie for 3rd involving York (so far)

Central beat Cannon. This is now the most district wins in a season for CM. Previous high was 6 set last year with a win over Macon & York, then 2 against both Cannon and Dekalb. Previous high before that was 1 against York. Still one more game to play this season.

Down to the final regular season district games for 8AA as we know it today (teams move this summer)

CM at Smith

Livingston at Cannon

Upperman at York

Macon at Dekalb

Current standings:

1. Macon 13-0 (when was the last undefeated team in the district?)

2. Upperman 11-2

3. Livingston 7-6

CM 7-6 (series split 1-1, what's the next determinant? A coin flip? Assuming both teams have the same outcome next game)

5. York 6-7

6. Smith 4-9

7. Dekalb 3-10

8. Cannon 1-12

Also there was an insane game White House 116 against community 103. Clearly no defense. Have we had a 8AA game reach 100 in recent years?

Wow, 116 to 103? Someone posted that there was some defense played on another post on Coacht.com but I have a hard time believing with that score ANY defense got played!

As for the finale on the year....Macon Co goes 14-0, Upperman will finish 12-2, Livingston will finish 8-6, Central Magnet and York will finish 7-7, Smith County will go 5-9, Dekalb County will finish 3-11, and Cannon County will go 1-13.

Should be an interesting tourny...what will be the tie breaker for CM and York? I know they split with each other. York got swept by LA...would this give CM an edge? They seem to have the same record against everyone else.

Predictions on the tournament? Who wants to step out on a limb here and be a prognosticator? I think there will be a couple of upsets but I want to wait and see the final seeding first.

York plays Upperman. The only way that York ties Central is if York beats Upperman and Central loses to Smith.

    • Honestly the A.D. may be powerless at Maryville to some degree versus other schools. I know he has his hands full with GoFan and all the stupid surprises just from the emails he sends out during the season.
    • Harriman was better than what I anticipated. They had good skill guys and a QB that’s gonna make a lot of teams look silly. They had some silly pre snap penalties but it’s just spring and I guess that’s expected.    Oneida looks the part. They are big upfront and got a stable of backs that’s gonna carry them this year. They have a few playmakers at receiver also. They have a new receiver that has only played basketball till this year and he is very athletic. The question is can we find a QB to consistently get them the ball. They played 2-3 kids there and none looked great but they didn’t look awful either. The  defense is gonna be tough again but it’s very early and a lot can change between now and the fall.     It was good just to get out and watch some ball. I don’t know if Oneida has the team to win the region this year but just what I saw tonight I think they may be in the conversation come November.
